My FISH co-infection test results just came back from IGenix and it was positive for Babesia. Neg for the others. Life sux!

I have been having extreme abdominal pain for the last few days and moderate abdominal pain for a few weeks. I don't know if it's due to the Basesia or the Doryx that I have beeen on for 10 weeks now for my Lyme.

I read how Babesia can cause abdominal pain but what does that mean? Muscle? Intestinal? Organ? It is not specfic anywhere.

Anyone else experience this? I don't know if my GI tract needs a break or if the Basesia is causing the problem. My peak and troth levels were taken a few weeks ago and my LLMD says I could actually up the dose to 500 mg vs. 400 mg. but a PICC line is being entertained so im not sure what im going to do.

I use Ultimate Flora every day (50 Billion) so im getting the proper probiotic. I havent even started on the Babesia poison yet.

My LLMD states that the FISH babesia test is the most accurate and sensitive test available but I have no idea how long that f-en parasite has been eating my immune system.

I have routine forearm and occasional bicep pain for which I assumed was from some co-infection like Babesia but the abdominal pain is to the point that im about to check myself into the ER so I can rule out some other possible problem to add to my daily BS.

Anyone else have these bad abdominal pains?

GNBRETT, this is unrelated but you may want to assess your ferritin levels as babs eats up our iron at times.

The pain seems to be everywhere sorta. I press on my stomach and nothing is hard or super painful to the touch. It seems like overall tenderness that dosent want to leave.

On Xmas eve I ate 3 lobsters and a steak. Was actually feeling like a human being that day for once and had a big appetite. The next three days a had the runs really bad. I vomited at night two days in a row and then started having this really bad abdominal pain but I have had discomfort there for like 3 weeks now but it felt more like sore muscles. Now, not so much.

My friend who has Lyme/CFS had salmonella for a month--could the vomiting be related to what you ate?

Me, I eat several small meals a day and that has helpe;d me tremendously with my abdominal pain and of course probiotics-I have ended up in the ER many times always to have the doc look puzzled-even scans and ultrasounds, GI workup was always neg.

Do get it checked out..maybe ring in the New Year at the ER?? [Smile]

Ya know it almost feels exactly like something I experienced a few years back after shoulder surgery. I was on pain killer meds (Hydrocordine or something)for months and suddenly went off them and had like this exact same feeling.

My doc said I should have cycled down and my intestinal track nerve endings were numb as a result and not moving eaten food thru my intestine like it should. He gave me some meds for it and it cleared up in a few days.

I dont know? Maybe the doxy is bringing on a similar condition.
