I am taking the following dosage

Malarone 250-100 ( 1 per day)
Zithromax 250 mg ( 1 per day)
Flagly 1000 mg per day

Started on 12/22 and so far there has not been alot of change. My symptoms are a severe headache/head pressure and stiff neck.

I am not really sure if I have Babs. I do not have air hunger or night sweats.
My body temperature is 96-97 range and I have general fatigue.

Based on people's experience ( not medical advice)

1) Is this dosage a bit low. I did accidently take double the dosage on zithromax and it seems to create a bit of a herx reaction.

2) Should I ask my doctor about adding Art to this treatment?

3) My LLMD does not think it was babs, but was willing to trial it as I did have some of clinical symptoms. I did test negative on the Igenex antibody test for babs and positive for Bart. Is it possible that I am still dealing with Bart. I did take 4 months of doxy which I thought should kill the bart.

4) does Zithromax work on bart?

Any help would be appreciated.

Tony

Some quick answers from my experience;

The opinion on dosages can differ depending on who your doctor is.

The malarone is either low or normal dosage (one/day). Some people get better with one/day, some take up to 6/day.

IMO, most lyme patients take twice as much zithromax, 500mg/day.

Sounds like alot of flagyl to me. Hope others will chime in. I would not be able to tolerate that on a daily basis, but it is a helpful treatment for many.

I believe that zith can hit bart, but more effective bart treatments are rifampin with zith or levaquin.

It sounds to me like it's more Bart, but I'm not an MD. Those meds would wipe me out as I am so sensitive.

Doxy would work somewhat on babs as would Flagyl.

Why don't you try just rimpanfin (sp?) and get to the bart?

Good luck.

My dose of Malarone was 4 per day and Zithromax 2 per day. My severe sweating after baths, showers and swimming is gone. I no longer have to change clothes 2-3 times. This and some ocassional night sweats was the only symptom that I had of Babs.
