I am leaning towards Bart as my predominant issue and just wanted to get folks comments to see if I am on the right track.

Here is my rationale:

1) Main symptoms are fatigue, severe stiff neck, severe headache/head pressure and memory type issue.
2) Night sweats and hunger are not an issue.
3) Did not respond to High dosage amoxy
4) Responded the best to 400 mg of doxy.(4months)
5) Responded positively to Levequen ( 1 month)
6) Did not respond to Flagly/ Biaxin
7) Did not respond to Malarone/ Zithro and Flagly
8) When I doubled up on Zithro ( 500 mg), I did get a mild herx
9) Cd57 is normal at 145
10) Muscle tested said no to Lyme and yes to Bart.( this was done by the arm method with pressure/counterpressure)
11) Positive Igenex for Lyme and Bart
12) Normal Igenex babs Antibody testing
13) Abnormal brain spect- Hypofusion mild to moderate
14) ESR is slightly higher at 15 and Billruben is higher.
15) Abnormal 24 hour urine test on protein.

So I know that there is no one signal factor, but alot of the above list points to Bart.
Is 4 months of Doxy not long enough?

What are people's experience?

--------------------
Dx 3/2008 Pos. WB and Bart- igenex
Levequin 500 mg March 2008

Zitro, Malarone and Flagly Jan - feb
Remission for 6 months

The stiff neck and stabbing head pains are babs symptoms for me.

Doxy was great for Lyme for me.

I did rifampin for bartonella.

I think a negative babs test doesn't mean you don't have it.

My Fish was negative via Igenex and yet there is no doubt I have babesia.

A CD-57 of 145 is in the low range of normal.

I believe "normal" is around 260.

Often a normal CD 57 while still being really ill,

Is indicative of a co-infection.

My LLMD doesn't put a whole lot of emphasis on CD 57 scores anymore.

How much malarone did you take and for how long?

Not everyone with babesia has night sweats or air hunger.

I say go after the bart and Lyme.

BTW, I weighed about 105lbs and took 600mg of zith daily.

See what symptoms you are left with and then decide.

Hugs,

Geneal
