I have had neuro lyme for about 8 years and been through multiple rounds of abx, oral and IV.
I have one symptom that never goes away. My hands fidget and twitch involuntarily. My fingers feel extremely sensitive as well. I also re-apply lotion all the time.
Sometimes it's worse than others. People think that I am nervous when I'm not.
Has anyone experienced this or know what causes it?

Yes, I go through the same thing for a long time now. I also have Neuro-Lyme and have had it for 15yrs now. I was infected 18yrs ago, but it did not affect my nuero system until about 3 yrs. later.
For what ever reason mine has gotton much worse over the last year. Now my hands will go into a fist or claw, (which actually that part isn't new at all) but I will do complete circles from my wrist down without even knowing it until it starts to get painful in my wrist. Well actually my forearm will turn from front to back as my fists are literly rolling 360 degree circles???
I really don't know how else to explain it!? It's totally uncontrolable and painful----strange.
Also my husband tells me that when I am coming out of a siezure, but still not alert that I will pick at my clothes or the blanket. He says it looks like I trying to pick lent or something off of them. Then when I totally come out of it, I stop and have no memory of it.
I found that pretty disturbing!!!! Thinking that I really am losing my mind---my word!!!
Anyway to really answer your question. I don't know if you experience twitching or stiffing anywhere else, but it's pretty much to same thing.
If your friends or family think it's because your just nervous, what for a few more replies and copy this thread and give it too all of them!!!! You have Neuro-Lyme therefore the nerves have some damage. Every movement and every function starts at the brain. Well when certain pathways used to comuinicate what function is needed are damaged, inflammed or whatever----they 'mis-fire'!!! IE: sending the incorrect message to a muscle causing it to twitch, stiffen, spasms, ect....
I hope that makes sense as I'm not feeling real good.
