Could an epsom salt foot soak be as effective as a whole body bath?

I keep seeing warnings about epsom salt baths if you have hypertension. I'm not sure why. My holistic doc knows I have hypertension, but he recommended I take these baths every day?? Is he crazy or are the warnings not sensible?

I'm going to try a foot bath today. I'll use a 1/2 cup of epsom salts.

Seek, sorry, don't know about the hypertension thing. I DO know Epsom salt baths have helped my tremendously - I'm not medically literate like a lot of folks on this board - I go by experience, what works, how I feel.

A great, sweaty workout followed by a hot soak in ES has helped me a LOT. I do sometimes get some strange visual experiences while doing this, sometimes a little de-realization as well, I can clearly feel SOMETHING happening. I was getting so well I knocked off the soaks for a few months. My glands started puffing up again, so I re-started.

Had good results in feelings of well being & symptom control right away.

This isn't the 'endorphin' effect you get from vigorous exercise, I've worked out & been an athlete all my life, and I know what that feeling is like.

Good Luck.

P.S. I've had a lot of strange skin manifestations throughout this whole illness, so maybe that could be why a full-skin detox is especially helpful to me? I don't know, just a thought -
