My doc started me on antibiotics - last month it was 100 mg doxycycline and this month it is 200. The latest dose is making me quite nauseous about an hour after I take the pill. Any remedies?

It will help if you take it with food. No dairy though with doxy.

For lyme, 300-400 mg per day is recommended. I was on 400 and it helped a number of symptoms.

Terry is exactly right. You need to have some food in your stomach when you take doxy. It makes all the difference in the world.

I'm up to 600mg/day, (300mg twice a day) and it's not a problem except the 2 times I forgot and took it on an empty stomach. Those 2 times I threw up, I think everything that was in my stomach at the time.

The higher doses, 400mg-600mg have made a big difference for me, but you need to work your way up to it.

I just started doxy and I vomited this morning after taking it on an empty stomach. It said it is better absorbed on an empty stomach.

Oh well I will be eating with it.

"Better absorbed on an empty stomach" is a standard Pharma comment. However at this high dosage - you must take WITH FOOD like everyone else here has said. Also drink a full glass of water.
Avoid Dairy
Avoid Sunlight
Don't lay down right away - say to go to sleep. Stay upright for 20-30 minutes at least.
Do this - and give it a chance to work for you.
Best Wishes-

I tolerated 400 mgs doxy very well for about a year. Then I started experiencing problems with nausea. I switched to DORYX and it was very helpful.

With both, I had trouble with sun sensitivity, though.

Good Luck, I found it to be a great TBD abx, despite the life style challenges!
