It has been really bad the last two days. I never had much of an issue before this when I was on Ceftin/Biaxin or Clindamycyin.

My LLMD insists on mono Zihromax. I feel it does nothing useful for my Lyme/Babesia, but....

I've had severely cold hands and feet and horrid uncontrollable eye twitching. Any ideas on how to stop this? Really, all hell broke loose after doing that epsom salt bath two days ago. [Frown] Biggest mistake of my life.

Had that big time a couple of years ago, that was really hard when you talked to people lol.

It did go away but in my case it took awile and it does pop up on and off even today. It got better on doxy 400-600mg, biaxin 1000mg, plaquenil 400mg.

You could try a mild muscle relaxer, such as Skelaxin. I took it a while back for my sore, crunchy, LD neck problems and my stiff hands and feet. I noticed it seemed to relieve the twitching that I had behind my left eye.

When I saw a world famous Chiro who is into research and magnesium big time. He asked me if my left eye twitched.

He said that it indicated a magnesium deficiency. Are you supplementing with magnesium?

Just a thought,

Feelfit, our LLMD e-mailed me and said to take 400-800 mg magnesium and 200 mg B-6 and that should clear it up. [Smile]

If I have a true Mg deficiency, which blood tests don't show for serum OR RBC, who knows? No doc is educated enough to know about other tests. Epsom salts sure didn't help. lol. Mg overload? Lyme had a buffet that night.

I have never gotten close to bowel tolerance regardless of how much Mg I take. I don't even think it's possible. I'm starting to think it's an old wives tale when people say Mg causes diahrrea. Maybe I should jump to 3,000 mg a day? Does it ever get dangerous?

IDK about the danger. this Chiro claims no danger at all. Take to tolerance. I can take 1500mg and it doesn't have me running to the bathroom either.

Our doctor ordered RBC magnesium labs for me. I have not gotten it done yet. Just consulted with him again today.

Interestingly, my RBC mg is always on the high end of normal. All testing shows no chance of Mg deficiency. Poassium RBC normal too. Very weird when you have so many signs of it. I should get a Meyers Cocktail IV and see what happens. [Smile]

I hope the consultation was useful. Let me know.

Zithromax gave me muscle twitches in my face.

I think it was a herx.......probably due to either Lyme or Bartonella.

For me, it took adding Plaquenil to the Zithromax for these twitches to appear. Plaquenil makes Zithromax work better. For you, the Zithro on its own may be enough.

Based on my experience, that is what could be going on with you.....a herx....
