Anyone here used this for lyme and did you improve?

I'm half way through taking this - 1 1/2 weeks so far and feel no better. Maybe worse.

It says to take at least an hour before food because it will give you stomach ache if taken with food, but I get one anyway. Headache and stiff neck are worse since on it.

I also got a touch of flu today with a temp. Seems I shouldn't come down with viruses if this is suppposed to build up the immune system. Maybe not a virus? Maybe a temp from it killing things?

A very knowledgable person in health food store recommended it for lyme.

I did a search here, but no one talked about results for lyme.

If headache and stiff neck were symptoms before you started your tea, you may be herxinng. Stop taking the tea for two ;or three days. If the symptoms subside, you're probably herxing.

Are you taking the basic vitamins and minerals as well as the tea?

yes, I take a lot of vitamins, minerals, et. and drink a lot of water.

I stayed off of the tea today and not a lot better. I think I'll wait another day before I take it again.

It looks like no one has had any experience with it.

Hubby has used slippery elm, chinese rhubarb and burdock root all in different forms, but has never used the essiac tea brand which also contains the 4th ingredient of sheep sorrel.

He does really well with slippery elm -- soothes G.I. tract -- and rhubarb root -- very mild laxative and endotoxin binder. Burdock is supposed to feed the good bacteria and I do think that was helpful as well.

I would probably stop for a few days and retry this later to see if you can tell if it is a herx or not.

Is Essiac Tea supposed to help with Lyme? I thought it was just for cancer.

They claim it helps cure a whole host of diseases such as diabetes, candida, parasites and I think it's known mostly for cancer.

I'm wondering if it would help knock out babesia since it's a parasite.

As for cancer, I read that it doesn't work for everyone or all cancers. But then nothing works all the time for anything.

I brewed my own for several months (at least 6 - 8 mo) and didn't notice any difference in how I felt. I liked it though!

Thanks Lymetoo, I will stop after I brew my last packet. It's too expensive to waste money and time on.

I agree, it tastes good.

My husband took Essiac tea for about a year for psoriasis. It builds the immune system. It helped a great deal with psoriasis.

Don't know what it would do for lyme but it does build the immune system so it might help.

I'd be careful to understand exactly what you are doing for the immune system though before taking anything that might upregulate it.

Edited to add:
Wikipedia mentions it for lyme:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essiac

That said, anyone can edit a wiki entry and say anything they want.
