I am so scared, crying..I need help.
I started pusling flagyl mid December. I got a cold, which spread to something worse. It got in my chest, sore thorat which will not go away, can't talk without catching my breath, my chest hurts especially when I bend, I feel like there is a hole in my throat, burning in nostril, there is also burning...AND fatigue too, especially when I lay down, I feel so much fatigue.
I stopped flagyl, and began my oral penicillin, and second day on that, I improved!!
By day 4, I got worse. It hurts when I take a deep breath, I cough with clear mucus...
Went to 5 docs..
1 doc said take prilosec. one doc said I have bronchittis gave me an inhaler. one doc said fungus in lungs due to all the abx I have taken.
I did xrays, ekg, echo cardio, strep test, staph test,..everything negative.
My llmd told me to take diflucan for 10 days and off all abx,....I felt good on day 1, then relapse..
now, I am taking protonix, stopped diflucan after taking for 7 days with no improvement. I am on day 2 on protonix, and no improvement at all. But I feel like I do have heartburn, like a hole in my throat...
Could it be I might have h. Pylori bacteria, could it be babs?
I am going crazy. I go to see my llmd tomorrow thank god, but what can it be? a combination?
I have been doing better, then plateued, then llmd gave me flagyl again, then hell broke lose.
I am scared, crying, anxiety.....can't function.
Jenin

Honestly, in my opinion, it just sounds like lyme.... and anxiety. We all go through this when we first find out what's wrong with us and get a diagnosis and start treatment. It's a hard, long road. You will get there.

Try getting tested for chlamydia pneumonia. If IgG titers or IgA titers are high, see www.cpnhelp.org

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time.

First thing...

No more Flagyl. Say NO to drugs.

[Big Grin]

Second... either stop or lower doses of anything and everything if possible.

Your immediate worsening on several things and while switching around.. and when stopping them... could be a flare up of stuff... or die off of yeast... or a number of other things.

When in doubt.. STOP, DROP and ROLL.

OOPS! That is the instructions if you catch on fire... but anyhow...

Until you clear out all the toxins, meds and side effects... you won't be able to tell what the heck is going on.

Give your body and mind a rest.

A taste of Pepto Bismol .. followed by a big glass of water might be just what your innerds need to get calmed down too.

BTW- Day 4 of penicillin is herx time from what I've noted... and they can be nasty.

I stop and/or then resume at lower doses ONCE I FEEL BETTER!

Oh.. and don't fall for the "Try The Tini" rountine. You did bad on the cousin (flagyl).. so it will probably be as bad or worse.

Leave the cysts alone. Messing with them at your stage of illness can make you much worse.

Glad you go to the LLMD... but you need to help yourself too. They don't know everything.

Hugs to you and hope you will feel better soon.

I am NOT a doctor. This is not medical advise. It was only written to keep my mind occupied and me busy so I don't have to do dishes.

I agree with Tincup. It sounds like your body is reeling from all the different drugs. Maybe giving it a rest for a bit iwsn't a bad idea.

I want to tell you that whenI was at my worst with babesia, I had all the symptoms you rae describing. My lungs were tight and they "burned" constantly. I hacked all the time as well as had horrible shortness of breath along with anxiety and fatigue.

The only thing that turned me around was Malarone - 4 to 6 a day. Have you ever been treated for babs before?

I do agree wholeheartedly with TC though - you have been on a number of drugs and switched around an awful lot, so it's hard to tell what is what. I think you should follow her advice - stop all meds for at least a week and see what symptoms stay and which go.

Then if I were you I'd start hitting babs hard. If it is babs causing these symptoms in you, you will know it pretty quickly on babesia meds - you should start feeling better within a few days to a week - that was my experience.

I know you've posted a lot about your problems and my heart really goes out to you...

Lauren

I hope you can figure it out soon. Could be babs, I guess. Even a negative test doesn't mean much. Have you been tested for it?

Been tested for h.pylori? Pepto Bismol sounds like a good thing to try for now. You've tried everything else. [pepto works for h.pylori]

Good luck Jenin,

I feel for you. I have also been in your shoes, not the same symptoms, but scary ones. A lot of the symptoms are so odd it produces severe anxiety and it ends up being a vicious circle.

Do you have any anti-anxiety? Or maybe tc's suggestion of a little pepto and a glass of water?

I will be thinking of you tomorrow. Please let us know what happens.

best,
feelfit
