Hi everyone,

I have been really sick for over week now from what I think is a bad Babesia herx. I stopped taking Mepron a little over a week ago and I have noticed that sometimes when I wake up, my left palm and fingers are itchy.

I do not see any swelling, bumps, or redness.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Hey Sweet...

If it is your right hand itches it means you will be meeting someone new.

If it is your left hand itches it means someone is going to give you money.

At least that is what I've always been told.

Actually I don't know what is causing this... could be several things. Nerve irritation, dry skin, allergic reaction or many other things .... hard to say.

If it continues to bother you perhaps the local drug store could recommend something to help with the itching.

Also note- if you were taking Zithromax with the Mepron... it can stay in your system for weeks. This could cause a mild allergic reaction .. as could any of the meds you are taking.

If it gets worse... or you have other symptoms... be sure to mention it to the doctor.

Feel better soon! Those babs herxes are nasty, aren't they?
