I just had this test done by Central Florida Research Labs and it came back negative. It found 5 organisms but 17 or more are needed for a positive. I don't really know what to make of this, last year I had 2 negative Labcorp Western Blots, not one band and then a negative Igenex Western Blot even though I had several IND and + reactions to lyme specific bands on both the IGM and IGG.
I did have a positive Babesia igg done through Igenex last sept so my LLMD started Zith/Mep/Flag treatment but I had to stop after 2 months because of very bad reaction to Flagyl and symptoms worsening.
I have just restarted only Zithromax and am starting up much slower this time as requested by my LLMD. She feels that I am having trouble detoxing so she added something for that as well. I do feel that EBV is part of my issues because I had very high IGG levels on the vca and ea but she didn't feel that this is an issue because she says that it is a past infection.
Some of my symptoms sound like babesia but I feel that I need the viral aspect looked at a little more.
Do you guys/gals think that maybe I should maybe see a CFS doc as well?
Sorry for going off topic,
Mike

Hey ll...
On my way to bed so don't expect much.
Not familiar at all with the FL lab. Sorry I can't comment on that.
From what you've shared it appears you have Lyme, Babesia and possibly some viral issues, or at least concerns in that regard.
Taking Mepron/Zith and Flagyl must have been a nightmare for you. That combo is TOUGH!
Glad you are starting slower this go around... that is wonderful news. Hope you continue to NOT rush it.. and you remember Lyme doesn't understand the word "hurry".
As for the viral concerns... just about everyone with TBD's who tests for EBV comes back not only high.. but VERY high on the tests.
It is not at all uncommon to see that... and if you didn't have a high reading I would kind of wonder about that.
Many do not address the viral issues at all... because the immune system is often able to bring down the load after the bacteria are killed off and you are properly treated.
I opted out of that treatment because my readings do come down when I am feeling better .. even without treatment.
In MY opinion, the meds are VERY expensive for viral illnesses.. and a coin toss would give you the odds to say if they even help at all. Some get no relief at all.
Plus you are exposed to more side affects with additional meds.. some I don't like the looks of at all with the viral medications.. and which pose additional risks.
Knowing what I do.. and seeing ONLY what you have shared here.. if it were me... I wouldn't worry about the EBV. Not now anyhow.
As for another doctor?
I don't recommend going to more than one LLMD or person treating Lyme and coinfections at a time.
Too many cooks spoil the broth. One will say XYZ.. and the other will say JPR... and before you know it..
You are totally confused, both of them are confused and may not be working together or may miss something vital to your health issues... and it all gets messed up and even arguments ensue.
I am REALLY against this as I have never seen a happy ending in that kind of a situation. I advocate one protocol at a time and one doctor directing your treatment at a time.
If after giving it a good try and you would like to move in another direction and your doctor won't... then consider another doctor.
Just my opinions. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advise.

Not too many people here have reported on CFR flow cytmetry results. So I just want to say I have no strong opinion on whether or not it is a reliable test, not having heard much one way or another.
Opinion, for whatever it is worth: Treat Babesia, since you know you have a positive, and also treat gut issues very seriously. I mean introduce healthy flora, and fight candida.
I encourage everybody to try the homeopathic series remedies from DesBio (whether you are successfully on antibiotics or not) because they work pretty well, and don't kill off healthy flora.
The Borrelia Series Remedy treats Babesia, and will go after lyme too, if you have it. (I wish I was getting a commission, but I'm not.)

Thank you both for your replys. I quess at the end of the day the Igenex test is the better test to go by, even though I was negative on that one as well, I did have some IND, + reactions on lyme specific bands, both IGG and IGM.
I will stick to treating the Babesia right now and hope I eventually see some progress.
