I have just watched UNDER OUR SKIN and read

CURE UNKNOWN. I had documented bulls eye and 2

week doxy treatment and told cured 17 years ago.

Over the last month of illness have just been

diagnosed with Chronic Advanced Lyme. Will see

Infectious Disease doc on Monday. (Little history)

New on the scene but I can't help but wonder if we're barking up the wrong tree. What I mean is this.

These Doctors ARE SCARED and I can't say as I blame them. My education from this film and book has shown me that the treating doctors are losing their liscenses, practices, reputations and livlihood not to mention the years of study and sacrifice in attaining all of the above.

Doctors are in trouble for OVERTREATING PATIENTS

SICK WITH AN UNRECOGNIZED DISEASE by their

Medical Review Boards & Insurance Companies.

I do not know which scares me more..Having this

disease or knowing what I am up against for

treatment.

It seems sensless to blame the doctors when their hands appear to be tied.

Do we write or visit our congressmen..send a letter to the President...Has anyone tried this and if so...what was the result?

I want to be as active as I can but don't have

energy to waste and want to be effective.

Thanks in advance for your help and for your

kind replys and info from my previous post.

Go to the "seeking a doctor" forum and someone will set you up with a Lyme-literate doctor.

Yes, it's really disgusting. Doctors who have tried to help us, getting punished for doing so.

Some patients die from Cancer and I don't hear of doctors being punished for trying to help someone with Cancer. It's not right.

I am not cured, but I am so much better off today than I was years ago. I have my LLMD to thank for that.

You may want to go into the Activism section of Lyme Net for answers.

Ditto!!! I find it hard to believe you would seek an infectious disease dr after seeing Under Our Skin and reading Cure Unknown.

Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Get a LLMD(Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) right away!!!!!

There are good LLMD's out there who have morals and ethics and who will buck the system in order to save lives.

We can't keep living in FEAR!!!

Good Luck,

Once you're infected, there will always the potential for relapse. You need to get to an LLMD now.

I can't blame the docs for being afraid. It's the system. I have a doc that is monitoring my progress. We don't speak directly about my situation. That way he's technically clear. It's a shame it has to be that way.

Witsend,

I hope we didn't scare you off. You came to the right place. Lots of support here. I own the movie and book. Both are great and true in what patients go through with doctors.

To save yourself from a bigger headache and money make an appt. with a LLMD.
