I give myself mag IMs in the upper quandrants of my bum....Still, it's sore and there's bruising....Do most people administer their IMs in this area? Any tips on lessening the bruising....My bum looks like a bruised pin cushion....

Thanks

I give myself Magnesium injections too. Sometimes I bruise, most times not.

How often are you doing the injections? Initially I did them a couple of times a week, now I am doing them a couple of times a month.

I sometimes will apply heat to the area to increase circulation to absorb the Magnesium and take down the swelling in the area.

Best,
Karen

i do NOT do my own injections. i do ice first and then walk afterwards to help absorb the meds. I have soreness but no bruising.

To answer your question, I am doing them frequently...at least 2X a week because my mag levels are soooooooo low.....

I've watched some of the IM videos on Youtube...Are you guys inserting the needle all the way into the muscle?

Thanks so much

Yes, I insert it almost all the way. How long have you done it for twice a week? I did that for a month and then started stretching it out to weekly then twice a month.

Do you mind showing me which YouTube you are watching?

Hey Karen--

I am doing the IMs along with IVs of mag so the use of the IMs changes....sometimes twice a week...sometimes every other week...depends on the IVs....

As for the Youtube video....I just searched for "intramuscular injections" and it pulled up several demonstrations....
