Does your fluid go down after rest? My knees get so angry with me. If I walk, exercise, and now, if I'm in the shower, they swell up and get really stiff. Eventually they go down though. Does any one have any helpful hints? Draining wouldn't work if they don't stay swollen.

Mtgirl, They do get worse when I'm on feet but I don't have stiffness. The fluid pockets are located underneath the kneecaps and are about 3 x 4 in. in size. Very soft areas.

I was having horrible problems with my knees, they were swollen, I was in pain, they were inflammed. I went to my primary care who had x-rays done and referred me to an orthopedic doc. The ortho did an MRI and found I have osteoarthritis in both knees in all three compartments. I also have Baker's cysts. I have been going to physical therapy were they do laser treatments and electronic stimulation of my knees. It has helped tremendously. I have very little pain now. I also have been referred to a rheumatologist, but have not gone yet. I was told that doc can do injections right into the knee to decrease further problems. I was on abx for lyme and bart and they were not touching the knee issues at all. I have stopped all abx after being treated for five months and am doing well.
