I am just throwing this out there. Doxcycline hyclate is not a good drug. I was on doxy and cefdinir for 4 months (too long) for a bite I had last spring. While on this drug, I had headaches and terrible joint aches in my wrist, ankles knees, could hardly go up the stairs. Went to one more doctor (infectious disease doctor) to get his opinion...said to go off antibiotics and enjoy my life! Since doing so, I have my life back. For me Being on these drugs gave me lyme symptoms. The achy joints, depression, headaches. Within one week of going off i had no more joint pain, and continue to have no joint pain. I still get the ocassional headache..but who does not? Not downplaying anyone else's lyme, but in my case going off the antibiotics was the best thing I could do.
