Hello...

I am back on this board again because I am sick, very sick again. Was first here in 2001, after dx. Then thought I was "cured" or at least in remission. Went back to work in August 2005. I felt great!

But, I'm back here, reading daily and unable to work since school resumed Jan. 6.

Urhgggggggg. Oh, how I hate being sick again!!!! [Frown]

My Dr.(LLMD) has me on metronitizole 250mgs/2xday and minocycline 100mg/1xdaily. I have never taken the mino before. What types of infections are treated with it?

I have more questions...but no more energy to type tonight. I'll check back tomorrow. Thanks to any one who can reply.

I'm so sorry Missy. Welcome back, but hate that you're here. Hey!! Oh my Gosh, are you in Mississppi?? I just noticed that, lol.

I've taken Minocyclne twice. For me, it was very hard herx-wise but I made huge improvements on it. It really hits the nuero symptoms.

We have several members here from Ms and we all try and meet up about once a month. It's a great group of folks if you're interested...

Take care and remember - you beat this thing into remission once and you can do it again!!

Lauren

Taking B-6 while taking the mino is supposed to help you feel better while on it.

Sorry you are ill again! Lauren is a great cheerleader though. She is good at lifting people's spirits!

Yes another Mississippi girl here. Please try and join us if you want the next time we get together. I am usually the one to plan our gathering, but I am thinking of passing that duty on to Lauren! She doesn't know yet though. HA!!

I am on Mino right now. It was really hard on me for the first 2 weeks, not sure if it was a herx or just side effects of the med; then I got the crude and had to stop the mino and go on zith to get rid of the other infection.

Now I have started back on it, today is day 3. So far not too bad on the second start up. I have heard great things about Mino, so I hope it will be that for us both.

Lauren is right, you will beat this again!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the support and info! This my first opportunity today to check back in here. I am only on my 4th day with the mino. The metronitizole alone didn't seem to do any thing. But,the Neuro symptoms and pain went through the roof when I started on the mino.Yesterday was terrible. Today was a little better.

Sutherngrl, I was the one who PM'd with you about 3 weeks ago. It was sweet of you and very much appreciated that you gave me your number. Unfortunately, I was really in bad shape by then!

My daughter took me back to see our mutual LLMD a few days later. I should have gone back to him long before this!...Like a year and a half ago!

I never have taken the mino before. I had several rounds of IV abx (rocephen, then zithro) between 2001 and 2003/2004. (My daughter could tell you for certain.) Added altogether it was about a year and a half. I remember little of those years. Maybe that is for the better!!!

I would love to meet up with you all if I can get my daughter or husband to drive me as I'm not able to drive right now...neuro issues.

Well, I'll look forward to hearing about a meet up. And for know, I'll probably do more reading than posting. It is so difficult to write. Right now it is hard to believe that I am a high school teacher...a very good teacher!

Even the worst of my students could do a better job of writing and teaching right now.....well, maybe that's streching it! [Smile]

Please let me know when you are getting together. And, I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day.

I used a scope to watch my progress and found very little die off from viturally any oral abx sadly say that.

I did find the extracellular abx the penns and the ceftins could clear out plasma quite well, even the "lyme hatchlings or CWD lyme, but failed to clear intracelluar infections. Bart appeared to laugh at anything but gentimicin. I have moved to using vetenary drugs, crazy but i think its working. I am in no way suggesting you use vet drugs. Thats the risk I am taking. I find the Dr B guide correct to the letter, follow that best you can I suggest. Also look at Efflux pump inhibitors...and consider rotating from doxy to mino....

Missy, day four for me re-starting mino and boom, I am definetly having a herx heimer reaction already. My symptoms feel like they did 9 months ago. Sure hope this is a good sign.

I hope this is going to be the med that does wonders for us both!
