I was weaned off of my antibiotics over a six month period after being on them for almost 2 1/2 years.

A few months later, I started getting sick again.

I didn't realize it and just kept telling myself that I was imagining it.

I also was under a lot of stress due to two deaths in my family and I moved.

I WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT bitten by a tick again, that much I know.

My LLMD did an Igenex blood test and my IGG was positive, but my IGM was negative.

He put me back on the antibiotics, but I feel no better two months later.

In fact, I feel worse this round than the first time I was sick.

I am in moderate to severe pain (muscle/joint) all the time and find myself sick to my stomach quite often with god-awful headaches.

Has anyone else had the experience of getting sick again after stopping the drugs?

I am so depressed and feel like I will never get better again

As always, your input is greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry that you are sick again.

you asked:
Has anyone else had the experience of getting sick again after stopping the drugs?

This is very common.

Were you tested and treated for co-infections with your last round of treatment? Some of us are clinically diagnosed with co-infections and treated. It's hard to get a lasting remission if you have unresolved co-infections.

Time to start looking at factors that might be contributing to relapse. Stress is one of course but also heavy metals, mold, chemical exposure etc.. Look for anything that depresses your immune system and eliminate it.

I'm sure others will be along with more suggestions.

Try not to be depressed. You did it once, you can do it again.

Terry:

Thanks for your reply.

The only co-infection I had the first round was Bartonella and that supposedly was cured with two months of Levaquin.

I was not tested for co-infections this round.

My LLMD does not think I still have Bartonella as I don't have the same symptoms I had the first time.

I will say that he believes that Bartonella caused more damage to me than Lyme.

My CD57 was 80 at the height of my illness.

I'm told that that is pretty high for someone who was as sick as I was with late stage chronic Lyme disease.

Also, Bartonella and Lyme are similar in some of the symptoms they cause.

I have a lot of neurological problems, including foot drop in my right leg.

Anyway, I appreciate your advice and will try to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope you are doing well.

It gives me hope when I see others getting better.

By the way, my name is Terry too.
