I have Lyme/ Bart and have for many years. 3 years in treatment now. Have had Vertigo as one of my main symptoms for a year now and before that almost a year. It went away then came back. I am on Levaquin and Doxy...last week my LLMD put me on 4500 mg's of Amoxicillin as well. About 4 days later I became so dizzy I couldn't drive and the massive dizziness hasn't stopped since. I stopped the Amox 3 days agao as the LLMD said to, but the insane dizziness is still there. If this is a herx how long will it last???

Will I ever get better??...so sick of this dizziness and so sick of being scared. I have been crying for days out of frustration and hopelessness and feeling like I am not far away from becoming a dizzy home bound person. And the crappy part is I feel so great otherwise. I have great energy and besides some minor hearing loss and twitching, I feel good. The dizziness is the kicker. It is ruining my life. Sorry to ramble but sometimes it is just too much.

It has been so long since my world has been steady. Any thoughts, answers etc??Thank you so much.

Hi,

Was your dizziness from a herx??? And what treatment were you on at the time. What are "PT's"?
Sorry, have never heard of that.

lalyme,

I have had vertigo and dizziness as one of my worst symptoms. Very difficult to deal with when you are a busy person.

Have you ever been on zithromax? I only ask because it seemed to work well for my neuro symptoms when I am on it.

I can't imagine being on that much amox in conjuction with doxy and Levaquin. My doctor is pretty aggresive and he has me on 3000mg's per day of amox and 500mg of zith.

I will say that the doxy was very rough on my system and I have heard when it is combined like this it can push you over the edge.

I am not a doctor, but it may just have been too tough for your system or it was a huge herx in which case hopefully you killed tons of spirochetes.

You will get better, it will eventually go away. Stay positive. I know how you feel as it is the worst of all my symptoms. I have tinnitus 24/7, and neck pain, head pain, pain behind the eyes, hip pain, heart palps the list goes on and on and I can honestly say the dizziness and vertigo are the worst. Many people just don't realize how debilitating the vertigo can be.

Your herx can last awhile, however if you stopped the amox it should go away before too long. Hang in there!!!

Make sure you empty your bowels enough and you are not recycling the dieoff.

The colon and intestines are very much connected. My symptoms usually calm down when I do a warm water enema. Hope this helps,

Gael

Thank you both so much! I will make sure I am detoxed too. And I can't believe how insane it is LIESANDMORELIES that we have so much of exactly the same symptoms. I have also had hearing loss in my left ear...the one with the ringing. Ugh! How long have you had Lyme and how long has your Tinnitus gone on? Does it get worse/better with different treatments other than Zith? Zith did not really work for me.
