I am being treated for h. pylori, and I have been on abx for 2 weeks to treat it (I know it hits lyme too).
I understand I might have food allergies from this gut infection, because it seems like some foods hurt, and others help my stomach.
what tests do I need for food allergies?
Can my llmd test for it?
I am gluten and casein free now for 1 week. What foods will help heal my stomach?

I am being treated for yeast too, nystatin. And next month, my llmd wants me to rotate nystatin with diflucan every 2 weeks. my lyme protocol for 1.5 yrs has been continuous bicillin shots, 2-5 times a week, and he layers in other abx for 1 month. So I have been on IM shots mostly, thus avoiding the gut.

Bicillin will bypass the gut BUT it still kills your beneficial bacteria. I was on it for 2 years. I loved it. But, I dropped tons of weight and ended up with severe colitis and IBS. In the end, is really isn't avoiding the gut, though it isn't as hard or fast a hit as oral abx.

I am off Lyme Rx now for almost 9 months. My gut is still a mess. I am taking Welchol to help with the IBS. I am gluten and casein free - have been for ages. I need to take probiotics daily. Digestive enzymes help. Whole grains, cooked vegetables and fish are mostly what I eat. You can now get GF rolled oats - a great way to start the day and soothe a hungry crabby tummy. Ginger is good for the gut too.

Just keep at it. Hope you start to feel better soon.
