I went in for blood work to get my hormone levels tested (at hubby's insistence--he's tired of being deprived, I guess).
Well, the receptionist called today to tell me that the dr. said I should have gotten my monthly visitor early to mid-February and asked about that.
I told her when I had this month's cycle and how long it lasted.
She made a note and said the dr. is on vacation till next Thursday, so she'd give the dr. my info and she'll see what the next step is.
Now I'm certain she found "something," although what I don't know.
Usually when all test are normal they just send a letter.
I had given her a complete list of my symptoms when I was there. She said hormone levels wouldn't cause all that I was experiencing.
I told her I was suspecting Lyme. She seems to be Lyme sympathetic, saying it's a "very weird disease," but she doesn't claim to be an expert.
So now I'm wondering, if I do indeed have Lyme, could it be showing up somehow in these test results?
I hate that they called me on the week that the doctor is on vacation, and now I have to sit here and wait and worry about what they may have found.

They need to know your monthly cycle to determine if
Hormone levels are accurate for "where" you are in your cycle.
Maybe repeat the testing if there is any questions.
Were they just testing hormonal levels?
Those can change daily.

I really don't know what all they tested for.
I did ask if she thought I was going into perimenopause (I'll be 40 next month), so i don't know if they're looking for anything there.
I have my annual exam in April, so I'm hoping any further tests can wait till then.

Hi Starfall- Were you testing your hormones to see if some of your symptoms could be hormonal, rather than Lyme related? Or just to check them for the heck of it?
I just had my Gyno appt. last week, and mentioned the Perimenopause possibility to my Dr. I've really been researching this Perimeno thing, and feel I have a lot of hormonal issues going on. A lot of my symptoms seem Perimeno related. She said that at my age,42, Perimeno is highly unlikely,(WHAT??I disagree with this!) and said that my symptoms were not hormone related either, which obviously did not give me the sense of relief I was hoping for.
I don't agree with her opinion, based on a lot of research I've done on Perimeno, and I think I am going through a bit of the Peri stuff based on a lot of my symptoms.
In your case, it could be your hormone levels are off, and that's why they asked about your cycle. Perimeno could very well be causing some of your symptoms. I'm no doctor, but spend a lot of time researching stuff like this. 10 Doctors will all have different opinions on the Perimeno subject.
It would be nice to think my symptoms were 100% hormonal, and not possibly Lyme at all....
Let us know what your Doc says about your results!!

Some tests give a reading only.... but the "scale" is based on age and where you "are" in your cycle.

Lyme can disrupt everything period. You may need replacement hormone therapies. Until lyme is under control.

I went in for testing to see if my levels were out of whack, not just for the heck of it. Not that I don't LOVE having my arm repeatedly jabbed in an effort to find a vein.
I've had a few weird cycles over the past almost 2 years (I started tracking after my cycles returned following my younger son's birth). I've had a few 23 day cycles, as well as some months where my period only lasts3 days and others that it lasts 7 or 8 days.
So with those things plus the loss of libido, I just wondered if my hormones were whacky.
Now that I've been thinking hormonally, I'm wondering if I have been infected even before being pregnant.
With both my pregnancies, I had to be on progesterone through the first trimester because my levels would not remain stable on their own.
With both pregnancies I also had to be induced after going almost 2 weeks over. My body just did not want to go into labor on its own.
Then there was the breastfeeding issue. My body did not produce enough milk at all. My son would nurse for 45 minutes on each side, and still be starving.
Even when I'd pump, I'd pump for almost half an hour and gets a few drops.
I don't know if Lyme had anything at all to do with all that or not. But it's got me thinking...
