I always had eye trouble with my Lyme and co-infections.
When I was first sick, vertical lines like the back of chairs and drapes would flicker back and forth very rapidly.
With treatment, I've gotten better but not all of my eye problems have cleared up. I see little comet-like things that move fast(like under thier own power) when I look at blue sky.
I've been to several eye doctors - my retinas are fine.
I was wondering if any of you were able to clear up your eye problems and what you took that helped.

Various visual disturbances are common in Lyme. One of the most prevalent is "floaters." Sometimes people see stars or sparks that seem to "rain down." Other people see "worm" like objects that move across the field of vision.
Their are a variety of names for the different phenomena, but generally I believe they're related to inflammation and interference with the signals along the optic nerve. It's not the eye per se that's usually the problem, but the "wiring" thru the brain to the eyes.

Yeah, whenever I look at the blue sky I see something like things exploding, but they explode balck, if that makes sense.
I was told to try Mangosteen juice. It's supposed to be an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory juice that really helps eye issues.
Try going up to "search" and entering mangosteen to read some of the threads.

I, too, sometimes see these mini-fireworks - and other kinds of floaters.
I mentioned this to my acupuncturist, who is extremely healthy and strong as an ox.
He said: "everyone does. He does, etc."
However, if excessive, these can be floaters and anti-oxidants and eye care support can help. If from the nervous system being too stressed, magnesium can calm this down. Fish oil, too.

Eyes are the worst for me. Have diagnosed Intermediate Uvieitis and its been active for 2 years. It was what lead to my tesing and diagnosis. Bloods came back pos for lyme and Bart.
I have insane amounts of junk and cells in the vitrious of my eye. I have floaters in my right eye but nothing compared to the left one.
If I look up at the sky in daylight and kinda zone out I see little see through worm like things swimming around in my vision.
I still have no idea what the hell they are but after 2 years of treatment they are still there. I on IV ricephin in the hope it does the trick. This is my kitchen sink.
Just gotta keep plugging away.

I have these too. When I zone out on the blue sky. They have gotten much less with babesia treatment. Funny thing, I also saw something similar in my blood smear at the Dr office.
I think it's babesia but I've been on so many abx at the same time, I guess it;s hard to say for sure.

Joe. This is what you're experiencing: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/572679 It's called Bluefield entoptic phenomenon and it really sucks Like the rest of the eyes issues. They're the worst for me and I have Bb and Myco.
GOD bless you! That is so brilliant! I thought that perhaps it had something to do with Lyme Cysts in my optic nerve.
I visited your link and it is Blufield Entopic Phenomenon.
I was glad to read that the doctor said it is normal and does not need treatment. What a relief!
With Lyme, any little variation in "what is normal" sets off a panic and worry about the disease. Now I don't have to wonder or worry about this anymore.
Thanks again for your help!!

Okay so why would I only see these swimming things in my eyes now that I have lyme and co. Is it something to do with the change in blood flow due to inflammation or something?
I would love to think that I am not seeing swimming spiros or other bacteria. The sheer amount would indicate that all the treatments I have done has not gotten into the eye at all. Or that they are totally immune to antibiotics.

This is probably not going to be popular here, but I read on another thread (can't remember which one) that a few people were feeling like they had parasites wiggling around the sinus area and eye.
Someone also mentioned that their eye doctor pulled out a read thread from her eye, but didn't know what it was.
I can tell you first hand that I have seen what you are seeing NMN, and I also have had small parasitic worms come out of my nose and eyes.
(probably because I am on the salt/c protocol) The eye ones feel like grit, but when I looked at them under a magnifying glass, I could see the shape of a small parasite.
Antibiotics cannot kill parasites. You might want to consider an antiparasitic.

I believe you are seeing floaters. They are normal to a certain degree. You see them when looking at the sky or a blank wall. When you move your eyes, they move too, so you can't focus on them. But they are really stationary. If you actually see them moving and wiggling independent of your eye movement, then I would be concerned.

I wondered why I'd notice these now, too. But, before, I never really day dreamed - always was on the go.

i have this too, and i also see visual snow all the time, but it's especially noticeable if i look at a monochrome blank surface like a wall or ceiling or the sky. kinda like a broken tv, but not quite as bad. i've had this my whole life, before i got sick with lyme, and i wonder how common/normal it is.

I have the same thing. When I look at the sky there are these little dots... LOOOTS of them. It's a frenzy of movement. They are NOT "floaters". These don't float or anything near, these things move with a purpose.. alll over the place!
