I'm looking to add Lyme Friendly physicians to the main list. When I say Lyme Friendly I mean "These are doctors who "help" you -- knowing you have Lyme Disease -- and actually are supportive, even if they don't treat the Lyme Disease directly with antibiotics"

I also need contacts with psychologists, social workers, counselors, and just about any other specialty field of medicine (i.e. Immunology, Primary care, Dentist, Surgeons, etc)

E-mail me with names and numbers of people you recommend as high quality providers that could be helpful to others. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know by e-mail. [Smile]

Betty,
Oh I still work on the list daily, it was handing out names by myself that was tedious and too time consuming. I couldn't do it all and manage to help people as widely as distributing the list. I can work at my own pace behind the scenes on this list.

Hope that explains. I've gotten some good responses, keep them coming. At this rate we're going to make things a lot easier for all of you to receive better care and a wide range of choices. Most of us know doctors who help us in our small teams, but who we never mention because our main focus is always on our Lyme Specialist.

These other doctors are key players too, all supportive "co-stars" can get a patient on the right track. Plus most supportive "friendly" providers take medical insurance.

So keep them coming and thank you so much for those who have provided some data.

We've got some new additions in Arizona, NY and Massachusetts. In 4-5 more months I'll give you an updated list Betty that you can spread to the right people. Thank you so far. Continue to e-mail me if you have reports you'd like to offer on Lyme friendly physicians.

Keep them coming folks. It's perfectly ok to ask your doctors for permission if you wish to include them on the list.

Betty will vouche for me, if anyone is concerned about anonymity and protecting physicians. We're doing rock solid strong work that is improving our system of getting patients to the right doctors much more effectively. Travel times are reducing, money is being saved, and most of all, strong symptomatic and emotional support are gradually improving as a result of centralizing this data.

Having one specific person who does nothing but focus on this form of activism is needed and I've always been good at turning over every rock and judging people. That's how this evolved, so please please, continue to assist me, you're giving this community something amazing. The gift of being able to bring your child to a pain management clinic who otherwise would be unavailable, or a psychiatrist that "get's Lyme" -- these are really serious things!

Help me to help them. Ask your doctors for permission if you wish to ensure they're comfortable having Lyme patients referred to their care.

And one more thing, please people, keep moving this thread up. If you can't offer a name, at least do that. I will be grateful. [Smile]

Bump....

My PCP is very helpful in my case, as far as wanting to help me and learn about Lyme. He does not know all there is to know but is willing to learn.

He has been instrumental in my personal care since starting treatment for Lyme. Do you want his name even though he is not extremely Lyme literate?
