The students say they worry that pharmaceutical industry scandals in recent years -- including some criminal convictions, billions of dollars in fines, proof of bias in research and publishing and false marketing claims -- have cast a bad light on the medical profession. And they criticize Harvard as being less vigilant than other leading medical schools in monitoring potential financial conflicts by faculty members.

Good article.
Steere is a professor of rheumatology at Harvard University, previously at Yale University.
Harvard got an F and Yale a C. Hopefully the action that is being taken will make some difference in lyme research.
Very glad to see that the students are paying attention and want things to change.

A legit & curious question -- what would happen if Harvard professors lost all of its/their funding from pharmaceutical companies? And how many less papers endorsing pharmaceutical products would not be published?
It would be GREAT to know how many pharma $ trickled into this ivy league.
