...and not letting the smell alone make you gag?

It seems like the longer I take it, the more the smell and thought of puting the stuff in my mouth, the more sick it makes me feel.

I hold my breath a few seconds before i put it in my mouth, as i put it in my mouth, and after its down my throat..

but the remnants of the test of this stuff in my mouth makes me nearly barf it back up.

sooooo.... does anyone have any tricks to avoid the nastiness of the mepron smell/taste???

Thanks guys

a CHASER of some sort. I had to eat sweet stuff sometimes to help deal with it (chocolate!).

Ugh, I have the aftertaste in my mouth right now and the kitchen's sooooo far away, can't get down out of bed and go eat something.

I used to plug my nose while taking it, and keep it plugged (no unplugging) while I then swished my mouth out with water to rid the taste from my mouth. Even if the substance is already in your mouth, keeping the nose plugged makes you not taste as well. Oh, and I would also then wipe my lips with a napkin, before finally unplugging.

So, plug nose first, then allow spoon to get close to your face and take, swish thoroughly with water (have water handy since one hand will be on nose), napkin wipe lips so no remnants remain on lips, unplug nose. Then take final sip of water or chaser.

Works pretty well.

Im sure they told you to take it with something fatty. I used peanut butter.

Get ready for GI problems. Don't get too far from the toilet. LOL

Other than that, yum yum, yellow paint.

I used it after a meal; after dinner or breakfast, so I did not have to add extra fat to my diet.

I found the taste tolerable enough. It really helped my symptoms.

I put mine in a small amount of orange juice--maybe two ounces--then clean the glass and measuring spoon with water or tea and drink that, too.

I eat organic coconut cream with mine for the fat. And, have lost weight!! Besides, that stuff tastes like the insides of an Almond Joy bar! LOL!!

Best,

Cass A

I'm like you, just thinking about it makes me gag. I had a nice dry heave last night after downing my Mepron and Flagyl. Uugh.

But here's my technique: I plug my nose while taking it. Then while still plugging my nose, I throw a couple of mints in my mouth. I wait about a minute before unplugging my nose.

Not foolproof, but it helps.

Just be careful with a syringe especially if you have any swallowing issues.

It may by-pass your swallow reflex.

Mepron in the lungs may be bad.

I didn't mind the taste.

Maybe put it in some milk.

Hugs,

Geneal

I'm wondering if my Mepron tastes different from all of yours.

I actually like the taste. It taste citrus like cough syrup.

I chase it with a tablespoon of coconut oil and like Cass A, I love the taste of the coconut oil too.
