Hi All,
I just got my kit from IGENX and it's my understanding for the first test I want to do #188 and 189 for the western blot. Will this show all bands of Lymes disease? also, it's my understanding this doesn't need to be refrigerated. please correct me if I'm wrong. I know this test doesn't show Co-infections but I thought this would be a starting point for me.
Also, does anyone know how long it takes to get these results back.
Thanks for any Info.
-Mike

Hey Mike,

188 and 189 are good tests to start with. The lab tech will know about the refrigeration and will process your blood according to the instructions in the kit.

Get your blood drawn on a Monday or tuesday toensure that it doesn't sit over the weeekend. This is very important.

Yes, it will show more bands than a Labcorp or Quest test.

The test has about a 10 day turnaround. Have the results faxed to your doctor fo quicker results.

Good luck,
Feelfit

Make sure you get a copy of your results.

Read the western blot info on page 7 of Dr B's paper:

http://tinyurl.com/a7cogr

and Dr C's western blot explanation at the top of this board.

You can have lyme even if the overall interpretation of the test says negative. That's just a reporting criteria.

mike, from what i've read lately on the board, it now takes igenex 3-4 weeks to turn around the results; but they can FAX results to blood lab where your drs. office is promptly and request they follow it up by SNAIL MAIL; mine was lost for 4-5 weeks!!

mike, check out my table of contents in my newbie links also for my detailed info on IGENEX ok.
