I know most of us have low blood pressure but what is too low? When I was at the ER last weekend, my BP was 105/65 and at the GYN yesterday it was 100/70. I do have mild POTS symptoms at the moment but is this too low?
Months ago I was normally in the 120/70 range. I am concerned I am too low now. I really do not have any lightheadedness or dizziness, etc.

While I was in the hospital, it was consistently low. One evening it was 87/36. I asked why, they had no clue. It has continued to be low. At the doctor's yesterday I think it was 106/60.

if you dont have any lightheadedness or dizziness then i wouldnt worry, my bp is usually 88/50 and i am very lightheaded all the time, and i have POTS, Radha

Yeah, I've had mine consistenly be around 90/50 or 90/60.
I went in to the drug store here the other day when I was having one of my panicky type episodes, and then it was 118/68, which for me is high anyway.
I had my BP checked at church (they do that once a month), and it was 90/56 then, and the nurse doing the BP checks wanted me to get right to the ER.
I told her I didn't think so--it's always that low.
She said, "Well, if you get lightheaded, get to the ER."
I said, "Honey, I've been lightheaded and dizzy and had chest pains/difficulty breathing for 6 months.
Already been to the ER and to a cardiologist who said everything is fine."
She was upset over that.
Well, we'll see what the LLMD says todsay.

Mine averages about 90/60 and my heart rate is typically in the mid- 40's. I am awaiting an appointment with a cardiologist who is knowledgeable with autonomic disorders.
It wouldn't be so bad except that I am symptomatic from the low BP and heart rate (dizziness, blurry vision, flashing lights ,etc).

I have low blood pressure. Usually ranges from 80/40 and/or 90/50. The only time it's ever 100/60 or so is when I'm at the doctor office.
I also have sinus tachycardia that while resting could sometimes get as high as 150....

i've started having this too, but, here's the catch. my heart rate has gone up, sometimes it's around 140 or higher.

Mine is low. If it's above 100, it's a good day! I'm usually 100/60 but it's been 78/50 before. I felt horrible that day and was afraid to leave the house.
Tachycardia used to be a problem as well, but I'm on a new heart med that seems to have fixed that. YEA!
How much is too low? Whatever is causing you symptoms... but below 80 can't be good.

Yeah, I am on a beta blocker for my tachycardia as well... I couldn't continue without it.... the tachycardia was just completely awful... not to mention the palpitations were no fun either and the beta blockers help with those a little as well.

My heart rate has been high as well. The lowest it got in the hospital was in the 80's but was often around 112 or so.

Same here guys. I have tachycardia when I am vertical and walking around. Toprol XL helped for a little while but then made it worse and I felt sick on it.
TuTu what are you taking for the tachy?
I bought I blood pressure monitor today. At my primary I was 110/56 and at home with this machine I was 114/72. I am sure when I stand it really drops because of the POTS.
I am sorry we all have this.
I need to ask my doctor if sea salt would be safe to try.

Consider a (Tilt table test ) also look into tests for , Aldosterone (24hr.), Renin, sodium. Vit.D ,and citrate. Cortisol is normal at times.

I agree w/ Radha. If you aren't finding yourself light-headed or having fainting spells, don't worry about it. I was running in the 108/70 region while recovering.
Now it's 115/75, typically, 2 years later. Not that I don't have anymore recovery to go. :-(~

I guess I never realized low BP was a Lyme thing.... Mine is ALWAYS low.. At one point it was 80/40.... Docs were a little concerned.
For the most part I am 100/60 ish....I always thought it was weird that I have such high anxiety but such low blood pressure! With the way I panic you'd think I'd be somewhere around 200/180!

This has to be a Lyme thing. My blood pressure runs around 83/60. I feel weak and dizzy when I turn my head.
A couple of days ago I had a colonic,my pressure went to 76/45 and i couldn't get it higher the whole day. Really felt sick and tired,went to sleep for the whole day and night.
I do take Celtic salt to try and raise it. Atheana
