I am asking a question for someone I met on another forum. She is undiagnosed with mostly neuro and fibro like symptoms. She got sick for several months and then was fine for a 1&1/2 yrs and now it is all back and worse.

I think I know the answer to this, but I didn't go undiagnosed that long to know if it can go into remission on its own.

PS:
The weird thing is that I posted a response that she should look into lyme disease because we had a lot of symptoms in common...then I found out that she actually used to live in my city within a few miles of me during the time that she got sick. She doesn't remember a tick bite, but has found many ticks on her out at the lake a few miles down the road here.

yes, it is possible for the spirochete to go dormant for a while and will usually reemerge during periods of high stress.

I personally experienced this, having had a long time before being diagnosed.

Yes, even the IDSA guidelines admit that some symptoms (I recall they say that about Bell's palsy, arthritis, and carditis) may remit on their own, but they recommend treatment to prevent the disease from getting worse.

So if 3 objective symptoms can remit on their own, yet the patient is still infected, isn't it logical to think the same may be true of other symptoms?

Yep! I had several episodes of relapsing remitting disease before it stuck around forever in 2007.

I should add, untreated each time. They said I suffered from anxiety.

Long time no see.

Yes, it can and does happen. Sometimes stressful events or sickness (cold, flu, accident) will cause it to come back.. and usually quite hard.
