I was wondering ya'lls thoughts on requesting to increase my doxy. Tommorow will be a week. I take 200 mg of it a day. I was thinking about asking the doc if I can go ahead and bump it to 400 mg a day maybe starting next week?
I know it will be years before I fully recover and this wont happen over night but I am ready to get off to a good and strong start!
Ummm, yea started on the Nistatin last night. Good ole Yeast infections!!

YES, do it,,,200 isnt enough,,,you need AT LEAST 400 a day to make a difference.
Course I am NOT a doctor,,but sometimes 'pretend' to be!!

The dose I have heard many taking is 400 mg a day. However doxy dose is weight based and if you are a small person that may be the reason for a smaller dose.
That being said, if yuo are seeing a good LLMD you should talk with them and ask why they chose the dose they did. do not change your meds without your docs consent. If you don't like he treatment find a new doc.

Thank you all for your replys. I am going to email him. I did ask him about the low dosage and he said he just wanted me to start off low. He talked about an iv after a while of orals.
I dont consider myself small at 5'7 and 127 lbs. I am average. However, I am sure there was good reason for him to choose that. He said we could bump it up after 4 weeks, however, I am just going to ask for the hec of it.
I too like to pretend to be doctor. Had I not, I would still be wondering what the hec was wrong with me!!!
