Does a lyme EM rash ever reoccur?

I don't ever remember seeing a rash from this LD before I got sick, or during the recovery from it. But last night I happen to notice a ring around my armpit, about the size of a orange. The center was white, and then there was a small red band, like a rash completely around the center of the armpit.

I didnt notice any ticks, anything else in the middle. Im not running a fever or anything. Although I did have a headache last night, and this morning.

Im currently on biaxin and have been on it for quite some time, although its at a very low dosage (250mg) a day, as Ive been slowly weening off abx before hoping to stop in April at my next LLMD apptmt.

Cause for concern?

For now I was planning on simply watching the rash, and making note of any increase in symptoms. I havent been out in the woods or fields at all, and althought Ive been around the dogs, I havent seen any ticks at all so far this year.

My gutt reaction is that its a deodorant reaction, or a sweat circle, or from walking the dogs last night as they constantly pulled (you know when your muscles rub against each other and cause welting.)

Your thoughts?

My wife did take a couple pics this morning of it, and if I get a chance Ill post them in the coming days.

But I was curious as to if a rash could reoccur, even long after the initial sickness started..

Thanks!

I should note, if it makes a difference, that Im actually at the tail end of what is supposed to be my 5 days of the 28-30 day flare up. I did have some of the old symptoms occur over the weekend, but not as severe as in past months, years.

Just added that in in case it makes a difference...

Yes, EM rashes can and have reccured long after initial infection.

Sometimes they will happen as a response to treatment, either during a herx or otherwise.

It's great that your wife took pictures - I hope they are good ones. The EM rash is completely diagnostic for Lyme, so be sure to take a photo with you in it as well so that if you need to prove to insurance or anyone that you have Lyme, they can't say it was someone else's. They will pull all kinds of nonsense.

So again, be sure to have lots of great pics where the rash can be seen well, and also soem great ones with you in for identifying you (for insurance etc.).

This can also be a good sign that treatment is working, as your body is being able to enact an antibody response to the Lyme and thus causing the rash.

My son who was born with lyme has recently gotten a "bulls eye rash." He was born with lyme and has never been bitten by a tick..........as much as we know.

However, he did have these 3 small areas on his abdomen that our pediatrition thought would go away on their own.......a type of wart.

We started to give him some immune building tinctures and !!!!! out comes this rash!

I am sure that the bugs, when challenged.......show their face!
