I did a search and see that others have have badly blood shot eyes and some have intensified with certain treatments such as Hoosiers when on Bactrim.
From reading the posts, it seems that this can be a sign of herxing or of toxins and can be a Lyme, Bartonella or Babs symptom.
My eyes are mildly bloodshot most of the time but increased to looking like pink eye when I started Enula, which apparently attacks Babesia and parasites.
I've backed off temporarily to evaluate. For those who have experienced this, did you ever get a more definitive answer as to the cause?
I just want to make sure I'm not going to be damaging my eyes if I start up again.
Does it go away as treament progresses or remain until you actually stop the substance that seemed to worsen it in the first place.
Thanks.

My husband's got much better with treatment, I think it was from Bartonella.

Is it dry eye?
My eyes have become very dry. I have to use wetting drops. I used to wear contacts. There is no way I could wear them for even ten minutes now.

Tracy - Glad to hear your husband's eyes have cleared with treatment.
Maybe I'll reintroduce the Enula and see what happens this time.
Azure - My eyes aren't dry at all right now but have gone through dry periods in the past - in fact currently they often just leak out tears that leave burn marks at the corners.
The redness in them looks like a bad case of pink eye or that I've spent too long in a chlorinated swimming pool. They're very sore as well.

my eyes actually do tear because they are dry.
Have you ever had conjunctivitis (sp?). It is an eye infection and did hurt. My eye dr gave me medication drops for it (sorry i cant remember what it was). If you think you have an eye infection you should see your eye dr.

I don't know if it's the same for anyone else, but the sicker I feel, the redder my eyes get. They aren't dry, just really painful like there is a lot of pressure behind them. Don't know why, but the eye doctor says there's nothing wrong with them!
