NEWS FROM TONY HIMSELF ... HOT OFF THE PRESS. *************************
copying his note to me here as is ...
Hi Betty,
I'm not positive, but I think this is your Email address. Don't even remember why I have it...if it is correct.
Just thought I would let at least you know that I got exactly nowhere with the ER folks...
I even succomed to a spinal tap, even though I knew it would render no good result. The ER dock conned me into it by telling me he thought I might have meningitis but would'nt treat me unless I submitted to at least a spinal and cat scan.
At that point I did not mention anything about lyme at all.....
Of course, when all tests run(blood urine xrays catscan) in the hospital, ER lab, or wherever, of course came back negative for or "normal".
The dang duck, or my patience, or the fact that my usual dose of medication that kinda keeps me somewhat on an even keel, started to run out,
neccessitating another regularly scheduled dose. I kinda started to come unwravelled...and my temper started cookin!
I don't know, perhaps if I would have been more humble and waited for the duck he might have given me an IV just to cover his behind anyway...but due to my swift attitude change I blew that chance up!
Then I sort of first timidly told the duck that I remember once having had Lyme disease....but....his responce to that I think is what ultimately blew my fuse!
He told me, "Well, if you had lyme disease and were treated it could'nt possibly be lyme disease now because it does'nt work like that".
I asked him if he was sure?
He then told me, "I am well versed in lyme disease, so I know I'm right here',(or something like that cuz I'm not sure because his first statement lit my fuse...course the second statement by him just blew it all up!
I told him he did'nt know JACK about lyme disease, if he could make a statement like he just did, concerning my symptoms NOT possibly being a return or flare of Chronic lyme disease infection.
I offered to share information concerning the disease over a cup of coffee or a beer or cocktail some other time if he wished to REALLY LEARN about lyme disease.
He walked out and in came the cavalry(at least what they thought might contain me or they were just witnesses to my swing in behavior....the roghest one seemed to me to be the tall blonde girl they brought in...LOL!
She never scared me or anything because I knew I was getting out of there shortly because I told them if they were'nt going to do anything to help me then I was leaving....NOW!
Ya know what's really weird about this disease and me....whenever I get really ****ed....and my adrenal glands start working overtime....I think I feel WAY less pain and junk...it's too bad I can't bottle that up.
Anyway...they never even mentioned my cardiac symptoms! Sheesh!
When the duck told me way in the begining that he would'nt be able to give me anything for pain....I decidedly told him I was'nt in there for anything for pain....
I had my own medications and I medicated just prior to coming to ER because I knew full well that they could'nt or would'nt give me anything for pain...even though I was experiencing some
"breakthru accute pain"
the stiff neck left side radiating up to a banded headache. Plus, whenever I would fall asleep I woul only awaken whithin two hours, sweating, breathing labored, pulseabove 100BPM and a migraine with numbness radiating down my
left arm and tightness in my chest! Which of course was all true, which is why I went to the ER to begin with because I had the same symptoms the night(morning hours) before and it kinda concerned me to have it two days in a row!
Being all alone I knew the duck would'nt give me anything for pain and I told him a couple of times I was'nt there for that!...
I had my own...in my van...
and If I was going to be detained there any further past my normal doseing period, would they unhook me from all the machines so that I could go to my van and get my medication so that I might follow my doctors instructions about
doses on schedule because I did'nt want to go into a seizure or whatever else besides level 10+ pain. I was of course denied.
Long story short....CRAP!
Still don't have the results of my western blot sent to Virolab(labcorp)because the office folk say my llmd in training has'nt yet read them!
Of course, due to "HIPPA" no one can tell EVEN ME, whether the tests reflect my symptoms of infection again!
Soooooo....just waiting as patiently as I can for my llmd in training to get off his duff(Which I more then suspect, has been approached by someone,{you all know who}),
as to his treatments of me, or anyone else, I ever sent to him for similar considerations.
OK, at the keyboard too long again...have to ly down....again...
I noticed what you did for me at lymenet....thanks a whole lot...and if I did'nt enter anything on theat thread(can't remember). Please, have patience...I'll try and get over there....hopefully today....
Thanks again Betty and all good wishes and prayers! (have just enough to break all this up for ya, so y'all can read it). Don't even have enough to correct it!

Oh, Tony, I'm so sorry you had to go through that at the ER.
But that's what happened with me too--just got blown off.
Of course, I have post-partum dpression in my past, so you know I got labeled as a depressed/anxious female aand they just wanted to give me "something to calm me down."
And yeah, I've dealt with someone (neurologist) who knew all about Lyme disease (I've seen people with Lyme diease, and YOU do NOT have Lyme disease")
What a jerk.
Anyway, I'm sorry you had to go through all the crap, but glad you were "well" enough to be released.
Hope you don't ever have to go back, but if you do I hope you have better duck luck.

Hey Tony, BECAUSE of HIPA you can have full access to your medical records. Don't let them get away with any excuses. It is your right to be able to review your test results. They may make you pay for copies but they cannot with hold the information.
Hope you feel better soon. You are in my thoughts and prayers today:)

He may have to get his test results from the primary physician treating him. Usually they would have all of the medical records.
Hope you get better soon.

Hi folks,
Funny...I was sleepy about seven hours ago...!
Been looking for that thread or website to send a note to Washington DC...
but never found it and due to a quite lengthly responce to dereks thread, on page one,
(if I remember correctly), I'm now again quite officially tired and achey from sitting here so
long...
Man, thanks for all the good wishes....and prayers...
I knew it might go as it did...it's just that I thought I might get away with a little con-game,
using my true symptoms, but not mentioning anything about lyme initially.
Unfortunately, when I described to the attending ER physician what I was experiencing,
(which should have led him to a priliminary diagnosis of classic encepholitis...he picked meningitis! SHEESH!
He even looked right past any of my cardiac symptoms. Went right to suspicion of stroke!
Which the cat scan, spinal tap, revealed as normal and no stroke nor meningeal infection noticed.
I don't know for sure but, would'nt proteins be elevated, if I indeed had encephalitis/lyme flareup?
I have to go in for a medication study at 8AM this morning in an attempt to gain some very
needed funds.... again...LOL! soooooo!
Wish me luck/break a leg....or something...
and again
Thank You, all, for your generous good wishes and good will, especially, your prayers...
And a special hug or flowers whenever I run into BettyG!
I told my oldest son, if I'm still whipping out the epilets at my doctors or nurses...
don't turn off any machines cuz I will still be alive and kicking and my anger alone whould get
me back from illness...if not the Great Doctor in the sky!
Unless, I burn even HIS ears off!....LOL!
