Last year I took Artemesia for a short period of time along with high dose Mepron.

I had some irregular heart beats and had to stop. I would like to try it again because I have babesia duncani and would like to take something besides high dose Mepron 4-5tsp daily alternating with Malerone 5 daily.

Wondering if others have had trouble?

I had trouble with Artemisinin recently so stopped.

I started to herx right away with increase in stiff neck, tiredness, twitching, dizziness, head pressure, numbness in scalp and skin, disoriented, cold chills, blurry vision, spleen and heart pains.

The thing that scared me though was that the veins in my hands, feet, lower arms and legs began to swell to an enormous size. I've had this kind of swelling before with other things and pushed through it but not to this extent.

Since I'm already in a weakened state from being ill for so long, I thought it best to stop for now.

Wish I understood the reaction though and what was taking place with the swelling veins.

I should clarify I wasn't taking it with Mepron - only with other alternatives.

It's known to have some neurotoxic properties, so apparently the potential is there...

My 4 year old twins are on it and don't seem to have a problem. My husband is also pulsing high doses of it every two weeks (1500 mg/day for 5 days!). He is currently on his 3rd pulse out of 4. At this dose he gets nausea, dizziness and fatigue.
