Hi Erika,

Sorry, I don't have the answer to when the pain will stop.

I just wanted to encourage you and say that I think you WILL feel better.

You could call your LLMD for his opinion.

The first step of recovery is definitely "feeling worse", which means you are a little closer to step two which is "increasing windows of improvement" according to my LLMD.

I will pray that you feel better soon.

Oh Erika,

I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad! When I get my muscle pain once or twice/month, I soak in epsom salts and it really helps with the pain. Especially if you can lay down afterward. It's the only thing that helps me.

Take care,
Ocean

Hi Erika, Your lucky its just in waves. I herx for weeks on end. I have had terrible neck and head pain for 6 weeks straight.

I think Epsom salts are a great option for pain relief.

Use 2 cups in a hot bath (as hot as you can tolerate), This will raise your body temp and also help the medication work better as well as helping relieve the body aches.

Works well for me. Hope you feel better soon

Hi,Herxing is part of being a lymie.

I hate the brain herxes,the rage,confusion,hopelessness.

But I love the body herxes the poping and cracking joints, you will find joints you didn't know you had.

(I love them because when they end I get a run of FEELING SO GOOD)!!!!

I used to time out my herxes so I would be in Wyoming to mountain climb just when they ended, for that (after the herx boost).

So hang with it a while and reap the after herx glory time.

Hi Ericka,
So guess I know what to expect for next week. I think the herx from the combo we are on is harsh. When it gets bad I back off on the meds. I am back on them from another 3 day break but only still at half dose.

Another poster on here mentioned taking singulair an hour or two before the dose. I may try that as well. My main thing is I have to be able to work. I have no choice on that. The epsom salt baths do seem to help you can get them at any drug store.

I hope you feel better soon.

Take Care,
Ann

When I do epsom salt baths, I get the water as hot as I can stand it to induce sweating.

I use atleast 1 cup of epsom salt, sometimes more.

I try to stay in for atleast 20min sometimes longer. When I do it right before bed, it makes me really tired, I sleep deeper, and wake up feeling more refreshed and symptoms seem less.

After the bath I make sure to drink atleast 16oz of water usually more than that.

Epsom salt baths, green tea, vitamen C and LOT's of lemon water are four things that can help reduce the severity and duration of herxes.

Don't let the simplicity of these 4 things fool you - if you're consistent in doing them they're very effective.

Most importantly remember that you CAN do this and you WILL get better [Wink]
