Hello all, I'm hoping someone could help to clarify my questions about treating Lyme.
I understand that Lyme multiplies approximately every 28 days. I also understand that the bacteria can only be killed during the time it is multiplying.
1. How long does this multiplying phase last? 4 days? 10 days?
2. Theoretically, can you just take antibiotics during the multiplying phase of the bacteria?
3. Are symptoms at their worst when the bacteria is multiplying?
I'm asking because my symptoms are usually at their worst around the 20th of each month for me.

Bb (the bacteria that causes Lyme) will more or less double the colony size in about 28 days in a culture environment. That is not really all that relevant to a human infection, it may grow faster or slower in vivo. Bacteria can be killed at any time really, but some abx are most effective when the bacteria is actively growing or splitting its cell wall. The human immune system can destroy Bb when it can find it.
1. Bb grows when it can, when nutrients and the environment support it. All the bacteria in your body do not follow some master clock.
2. There is always the potential for some Bb to be growing or multiplying.
3. I do not think anybody has a full explanation for the cycle in which symptoms flare and subside.
