Haven't tried it myself, but have heard that it can be very rough. Possibly this means big herx. Also, expensive. As it is a different type of drug, I would doubt there would be gallbladder problems, but maybe those with actual experience will have more info.

Hubby did it for Bart for 1 month, followed by Avalox -- seems to have been very effective for stubborn bart. I don't think it's an either/or for Rocephin -- different action, different target infection.
He continued oral tx for bart for a few months after ending the IV bart tx for mop-up. He seems to be over bart but since he's struggling with other coinfections it's hard to make a clear assessment.
Don't know about any gall bladder issues,--the tx was of much shorter duration than Rocephin tx, which may make a difference.

I was on Tygacil for 2 months... It is a great ABX.
Right now I'm on IV Doxy, but if I switch in the future it definately will be to Tygacil!
The only problem I had with it was the fact that you have to make the solution your self.
Meaning you have to take a needle insert the sodium chloride in the needle then put the needle in the tygacil, mix then put it back in the bag.
The reason it was a problem was because I am very shakey.. So handling needles was very hard!
I pricked myself a couple times, but other than that I heard it's one of the best to break the BBB(blood brain barrier).

I never did have GI problems... I guess it depends on the person.

I loved it...although 1 month was hard. In bed most of time due to fatigue. Did get nausaus but crackers & giner ale helped.
Only did 4 months due to blood clots I had to have PICC removed. I would like to go back on it.

I didn't pulse it at all. I don't rememeber the dose..
It was a high dose and I took it twice a day for 2 months/7 days a week....
