just last week i discovered my washer's water/soap system was covered in black mold. adn that the hot water temp wasn't 120 as required by law...it was only 98.
they replaced the washer but info at the link you posted leads me to believe that that won't remedy the problem. i am using that site as a starting point in gathering data to show the mgmt office and educate myself.
the mgmt office thought i was being totally neurotic about the fact taht all the water going into my wash, was going thru pipes filled with black mold. I'm quite ill with lyme and i started getting really anxious last week about whether it has negatively affect my health. (supposedly my apt building is a LEEDS certified eco-friendly bldg..and only 5 yrs old).
so thank you for posting this!

Stjohn, you're welcome.
Here's another link about mold that you might find helpful:
And I don't blame you for being concerned about finding mold in your washing machine because exposure to mold can cause a host of health problems.

thanks for the link. whenever i scratch something off my list that we've ruled out, another one has to pop back...so now i have three problems all with the symptoms pretty much...so which problem is causing the symptoms?
my symptoms can be attributed to lyme, or now i have significant nutritional deficencies and now the black mold.
so decreased cognitive function...coudl be from any of the three or all three. alopecia...same. fatigue...same.
im still in limbo with the property mgmt company. idon't wnat to make a hsystical fuss over it...but i have asked them to have a trained mold inspector/remediator come to and see if its contained or spread. the biz office today said the head mainteanace man and the head engineer are meeting to decide what to do.
i got surgical masks and gloves (from my dnetist who is also a somewhat expert on black mold) and various cleaning brushes and took apart the whole drain system in my bathroom sink. i won't go into detail except to say...barf. i tried to be acareful...everythign was out of the bathroom and all cleaning tools where sealed in a plastic bag, and i cloroxed every where afterwards. adn washed my clothres and my sel.f probably not the brighest idea but i'm not exactly displaying much good decision makins skill lately.
thanks for the links...def checking them out.

oh i forgot...(oh really? how strange. ha!)
i turned on my AC yesteday for my dogs more than me and the stinkiest mildew moldy water smell just blew intot my apt. i ahd to turn of the AC and open the widows.
i did a brief gogle search and basically what it came down to is...that smell isn't a good thing. no, really.
but now i'm wondering...along wht teh bad spell.. di that also mean the smell indicated more black mold spores (or whateve their called ) just get release into my apt and blown all over from the cental air..
