I have been struggling with stomach issue's for about 3 weeks now and have lost 10lbs or more in this time because i simply cannot eat.
Bloating Belching Abdominal pain Early fullness of stomach Gas
Whenever all of these symptoms are present....this triggers my neuro lyme. I start getting pressure on my nerves and boom i feel sick all over.
I am diagnosed with H. Pylori and have taken Prevpac for about 4 days now. (i cannot tolerate morning and evening dose) I am only taking a morning dose. It includes Prevacid, Biaxin and 2 Amoxy.
I havent felt any different....except my acid is in control a bit. If i eat a meal during lunch (a small meal) by 7-8 at night i am in pain, bloated and sick all over.
My gastro suggested i should do Endoscopy and i thought before going thru that procedure i should give prevpac a try.
Does anyone else feel such symptoms? Could it be H Pylori or Gastroparesis of the stomach. I do feel i cannot go to the bathroom fully in the morning either.
Please advise.
Soni.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about because these are my WORST symptoms. You just described me to a tee; even the part about neuro symptoms flaring at the same time.
I second timaca's suggestion about getting tested for celiac (a blood test AND biopsy in a colonoscopy), but I believe that even if you test negative, going gluten and dairy free might be worth a shot.
When I cut out common allergens from my diet, I was able to eat again. I still have a ton of pain every day, and I feel like I'm 7 months pregnant by the time I finish eating every night, but I'm able to eat. Initially I lost 60 pounds and was put in the hospital, but I've gained at least 20 of those back by actually sticking to an allergen and sugar free diet. I eat pretty much the same thing every day.
You can PM me anytime. I hope it gets better for you and you find some relief soon!

Common allergens are wheat/gluten, dairy, soy, corn, MSG, and food additives.
Do you have a nutritionist that you can call or see that can help you with a gluten free diet, or can help you determine what may be a potential allergen for you?
www.celiac.com is a great resource. They also have message boards there where millions of people with GI problems like ours post and help each other.

I agree with LittleLymie. I also had these same problems and going gluten and dairy free helped tremendously! It is hard, but worth every effort you put into it.
My symptoms were severe acid reflux, severe nausea, stomach and intestine pain, always feeling full even though I hadn't eaten all day, and constant diarhhea.
A gastro had me take the blood test for celiac which was negative. A biopsy of my small intestine showed inflamation, but no sign of celiac. So, I continued to eat gluten.
I lost about 20lbs in a month or two and I was already very skinny before this, so I looked very bad. I couldn't eat hardly anything.
The nausea would make me not want to eat, then when I did force something down I would start to throw it up. Also since my stomach always felt like I just ate a Thanksgiving dinner, I could not eat more than a couple bites. I got to the point that I started living on Ensure drinks to at least get some calories in.
The same time all this started is when all my other Lyme symptoms showed up. What finally helped my diagestive system is when a Naturopath put me on a no gluten or dairy diet (I also in the beginning eliminated corn and eggs, but since then I am able to eat them again). She also had me take diagestive enzymes with every meal. In her office I took a stool test through Entrolab and it showed I was reacting to gluten.
This diet was very hard at first. I would break down crying after going to the grocery store from not being able to buy any of the stuff that I was used to getting. However, pretty quickly I noticed a difference...I would say within 2 weeks.
By about a month my nausea and acid reflux was completely gone and the always full symptom was disappearing also. I was able to eat again!!! I went off the ensure drinks and was able to eat regular sized meals three times a day again with snacks.
I also started to put weight on right away! Which my family was surprized that I was able to with the diet I was eatting. I mainly live on meat, veggies, rice, and potatoe.
Five years later I still follow this diet, still take diagestive enzymes and as long as I do this the symptoms don't return. However, I still have diarrhea on and off but, that is even way better then it was. Still trying to figure this one out though.
So, I don't know if I truely have celiac or just gluten intolorance caused by Lyme (all my Lyme symptoms showed up at the same time as all my digestive stuff). Sometimes I think I had gastroparesis and somehow the diet helped, but just I don't know.
I agree to see a nutritonist. My naturopath is well versed on nutrition so she was able to help me out with all of this. I also got gluten free reciepe books which explains the diet at the beggining of the book and I research on line at celiac websites.
But, basically what works best for me is to eat foods in its whole form (not processed...most processed food has gluten unless it says it doesn't) and stick to meat, veggies, rice and potatoe. I do eat some gluten free bread. The brand I like best is Food for Life, but make sure you toast it otherwise it's not that good.
I hope you are able to see some improvement soon. I know how extremely hard it is to deal with this. I felt like my health got much better when I got this under control. Feel free to PM me anytime reguarding any of it.

You also might want to look into gastroparesis, I and other lyme patients have this. It is slow stomach digestion that can cause chronic nausea, stomach pain, spasms, gas, ect...

Ok so you guys suggest i should make an appointment with a nutritionist? Can i go to a regular doctor and see if i am Gluten tolerant or not? Or should i just go for the specialist?
This is weird as to why this is happening and rages a storm of my lyme symptoms as well. It has to be connected somehow.
Sometimes i think i have severe symptoms of H pylori...i am on prevpac but its not helping at all!!!

I did get tested for gastroparesis. I have it.
You can go to a regular doctor to see if you're allergic to gluten. There are many people with GI problems though that are SENSITIVE to gluten rather than allergic, so their blood tests are normal but they still do better on a gluten free diet.
The gut is definitely connected to the immune system (where the lyme wreaks havoc). 70 percent of your immune system is in your gut. So you're right, there is a definite connection between your gut symptoms and lyme symptoms.
Yogurt is dairy, which may be hard on your system as well.

Is the salt and c protocol working for you? I have read up on it.
I went to patient first today couldnt take the pain and the dr didnt know crap about anything esp about lyme! He just discharged me.
He did ask me to bring in a stool sample....so is that test good for parasites?

SONEE123,
I had several stool samples done testing for parasites which showed nothing. I was loaded with them.
The salt/c is the only thing that is knocking these infections out of me. I use sea salt. Everything you see on lymephotos is EXACTLY what came out of me.
I have been on it for 3yrs and I am 80-90% better. Again, it is safe to assume we all have parasites.
