I awoke this morning very nauseasted, so I did a tap water enema, which usually helps my rid toxins.

Well, it seemed to work, but about 30 min. later, I could feel my adrenaline surging, and I wasn't having a panic attack per say, but my adrenaline was flowing very hard for about 2-3 hours straight.

I took Xanax 0.5mg, no help
I took Klonopin 1mg no help
I took Benadryl 50mg no help
2nd dose of Bendaryl settled me down, but still kind of wired, just back to earth.

I usually just take 1mg of Klonopin 2 x per day, so the above meds, would normally knock me out, but they didn't today.

I found myself all over the place, couldn't sit still, very antsy, shaky, and weird sensation in my head where I couldn't think to straight, different from brain fog. In addition, my legs became very weak. I know what I'm describing sounds like a panic attack, but I have had them, and I assure you it wasn't. I even started crying hysterically out of nowhere and just couldn't get a grip on things. Felt like I was dying and losing my mind at the same time.

My Husband, who doesn't understand this invisible disease actually started an argument with me during all of this which made it all 2 x as bad an hour in to the entire ordeal. He is another issue for another time, but had nothing to do with the initial symptoms.

I just upped my Mepron the other day and I may have ramped up too quickly as this was my first Herx from this.

In addition, I'm told I now also have POTS which is a disorder of the Autonomic Nervous System which causes tachycardia, shortness of breath, anxiety, fatigue, etc. I have seen many on here who got POTS after their Lyme, so I assume thats what mine is too.

On the third hour, everything settled down, and I'm more back to myself, except I'm fatigued as can be. I guess my adrenals are worn out from this and I hope they repair themselves overnight. I don't know exactly how that all works.

I just want to know that this is normal with Lyme or with people that have Lyme and POTS together so that I don't think I'm nuts or the people around me.

Thank you everyone so much in advance,

Lymetwister

Welcome to the club. I struggle with this panic/adrenaline daily. It's very hard, especially considering that I am performing and speaking in front of people on a regular basis.

I'm doing Miss Wyoming this summer and you can see a front page article from the biggest Wyoming newspaper about me and my platform, Lyme Disease here:

http://www.trib.com/articles/2009/03/31/features/health/45b8f95af664ad3087257589006a762f.txt

But it's hard. it's hard having panic. it's hard having anxiety.

Lyme causes this, especially during herxing. I wish you the best, and please do contact me if you'd like more info from a fellow sufferer :-)

I have gotten like this. It fels like you are coming out of your skin your body is so agitated and reved up. Not a panic or anxiety attack.

Much worse.

I used to have to kep taking things to calm down my body like you did.

I am better now.

You are probably fatigued from the gush of adrenaline and the calming drugs that you took.
You're not nuts. It's part and parcel of the TBI process.

Best,
Feelfit
