The towns spray for mosquito's why not spray for ticks? Just was wondering if anyone thinks this might a possibility? If they cite the dangers I would say they spray our foods so why not for this?

I don't know why I'm chuckling, because it really is a bit sick and twisted, but I had a very unfortunate run in with a deer and my car last week...
Some dummy, upon seeing the large dent, asked why I'd go and hit and kill a deer with my vehicle. I explained, with a straight face, that it wasn't really about the deer, I was doing my part to control the tick population. The deer was just an unfortunate victim... I was taken completely seriously, and the guy asked more and more questions, until my passenger and I eventually erupted in uncontrollable laughter.

Those deer have minds of their own when it comes to "running out into the street!!"
and that IS funny about the ticks!!!!
Thank you... My poor passenger and I were having a conversation about children, and she calmly said "deer" I replied, because Lyme has made me dense enough to think that she was referring to me, and not a forest creature, and by the time the poor thing entered my peripheral vision and skirted in front of my headlights, it was too late.
I swerved, but had to swerve back because it was one of our backroads that has large, deep ditches lining it, so it was either hit the deer, or fly off the road...
We had no idea what to do... We were close to the fire station, but both of us are friends with 2 of the on duty firemen and did not want to give them more of a reason to make fun of us (me especially).
It was a long night. The 911 operator wanted to send out medics because we were laughing hysterically and I couldn't concentrate on answering her questions, but we had to convince her it wasn't necessary... After all we knew who'd be responding... Then she eventually called the sheriff and they said they weren't going to respond because it was a non-blocking incident that I could just report to my insurance carrier.
We get a good giggle about it from time to time, but so have others. Most of my friends asked if we rolled down our windows and yelled "slug bug silver, no punch backs" since I drive a silver beetle...

AP,
I admire you for being able to pull off a joke like that. I can never keep a straight face.

About spraying. I don't want them spraying for mosquitoes or on my food, either.
Were it not for all the toxins in us, I think we be able to get better much more quickly. Some of the chemicals used to kill insects is very neuro-toxic to humans, too.
Now, there are some better ways to control mosquitoes that are less toxic than what they have used in the past.

AP, This dummy saw the dent... but why did he know you hit a deer... never mind kill it?
And if you Told him you went & purposefully killed a deer... and he believed it?... I'd say he has a lot to learn before he can survive on his own! (LOL) Wow!

He went out to my car after hearing part of the story to see if he could fix it for me.
People know that I am rarely serious, so when I keep a straight face they believe me, no matter how bizarre the story.
It's great. My birthday is on December 31, and someone once asked me if it always fell on New Year's Eve... With a straight face, I said no and just waited. I guess he thought it was like Thanksgiving or Easter where it's a different date.

The spraying works for mosquitoes because they lay eggs in water, which holds the pesticides. Ticks live in dense, shady areas which are usually pretty well covered, and any pesticides on the leaf cover would just wash away in the rain.
