Had the weirdest thing happen the past couple of days playing lacrosse outside with the kids - could not find the red ball we were playing with on the green grass even when it was laying within a few feet of me - I had to basically get down on my hands and knees and scan the ground back and forth carefully and eventually it would 'magically' appear - hasn't bothered me before (and I don't have true colorblindness) - has something like this happened to others? Any thoughts? Thanks for the time on this!
Ken

I believe that might happen with Optic Neuritis.
Do you notice if it happens more when your body temperature is elevated?

I don't know if you have any other symptoms, but I came across that while researching.
If it happens a lot you may want to go to a good Ophthalmologist.

Thanks AliG...appreciate the replies; it helped me find some additional information
Came across some info on 'cranial achromatopsia' which can be temporary color problems due to swelling/injury in the occipital cortex which I guess fits into general pattern of encephalopathy in lyme...
Thanks again!

You're welcome.
I know I've had this happen in the past (pre-Dx) and it was one of those things that I just shrugged off because it went away.
I did end up with Optic Neuritis more recently and I recall being tested for color-blindness, but had no color-blindness at the time (outside of while I while I was experiencing total blindness in the effected eye )
That's why the Optic Neuritis association came to mind.
Hmmmm....The occipital cortex is at the base of the skull. That's usually where my REALLY bad headaches feel like they start.
I believe that type of inflammation could also occur with a whiplash type injury.
If you were playing rough, perhaps that could be the case.
