Hi All:

I usually don't post.....It is coming down to the wire for me, so I know I have to get this thing under control.

I started DOXY on Saturday, for some strange reason...I am very sensitive to ABX. I can only take 100 mg daily (for now). I have not been able to sleep.....and have the MOSY annoying ringing in my ears. Could this be a herx on such a low dose?

I know you guys are super supportive, I read the posts on a daily basis....but never put in my 2 cents, LOL.

Tested IGENEX pos 11/07....with Bart, Mycoplasma.

I feel lost with out any support or a shoulder to lean on....No family (that understands). The thing that keeps me going is my 9 year old daughter.... [hi]

Yes, it can be herx.

With the ringing in your ears (tinnitus) it is vital that you are also getting good liver support. Did your LLMD tell you to also take Milk Thistle or NAC?

Are you taking fish oil and B-vitamins as those will help to noursih the nerves and may help decrease tinnitus.

Magnesium and B-6 (sublingual or P5P) are best with magnesium. Folic Acid, too, and B-12 sublingual.

Know, too, that ears are far more sensitive to noise damage with on abx.

Be sure to use ear plugs with around a hair dryer or vacuum and you might avoid use of headphone right now, especially the in-the-ear bud kinds.

Are you taking any aspirin? That can cause tinnitus.

When I first became ill and started my second course of orals after a few weeks of no antibiotics my right ear started to ring. It has never stopped. Sleeping was impossible, but I sleep much better now.

I haven't known silence for months now. You get used to it, but it is really weird. It sounds like a high pitched squeal from an electrical device.

I don't think the antibiotics did it for I had a buzzing in my ear on my first few weeks of treatment and no matter what antibiotics I take it is always there.

My symptoms got worse, so I think I was on too low a dose, which is probably what you have. Things didn't stabilize until I did IV.

But I'm new to this and who knows.
