Quick recap: we live on part of a 140 acre "farm" that was used in the 70's and 80's as The Institute for Primate Studies. They had numerous kinds of primates as well as other animals that they obtained from all over the world.
They were both psychologists and so most of the experiments were psychological in nature. I just bought a couple books about what went on out here to see if there were any "clues" to my own illness.
Apparently, the wife was eventually diagnosed with "lupus" and became very depressed about her health. She shot herself in the head and died inside the greenhouse out here in 1985.
We bought our piece of the land from their son who still lives in town. I am sure this is nothing he wants to revisit. Maybe I am just reaching here, but I wonder what her symptoms were.
One of my "neighbors" and her family all tested positive for lyme years before I came. Her next door neighbor has recent MS diagnosis that she gets disability for and refuses to consider lyme testing.

I agree. Not paranoid. Just trying to make sense of your situation. Might there be anyone around who knew her well that you could ask some questions to? Just a thought.

I live about 20 miles from a primate research center.
It is NIH funded and mainly focuses on Lyme disease and HIV/AIDs.
This center is located right next to one of the area schools.
They developed the C-6 Peptide test there.
Co-incidence? The majority of my LLMD's caseload
Comes from our Parish (county).
Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
Hugs,

Definitely NOT paranoid I would say. But that is very, very creepy and I'm so sorry. I wish you could get more information about exactly what was going on there.
There was some real psychotic cruelty done to primates by psychologists back then. Read about Harry Harlow's experiments on rhesus monkeys, especially those involving isolation chambers Harlow called the "pit of despair."
And I would not be a bit surprised if pathogens were involved.

Well, I wouldn't be so bold as to say that cruel psychological experiments are not continuing. There's too much evidence to the contrary.
And, Lyme apparently escaped from a government lab that was doing "research" on animals--the book on it is Lab 256, I believe.
But, more to the point, Lyme sounds like a real possibility!!!!!
Are you concerned that your farm is the focal point for local infection?

I guess you could say that I have thought about going door to door asking if "anyone living here has an unexplaned illness"...I don't know how to do it without appearing to be a NUT!
I do find it very interesting that Geneal lives nearby an Primate research lab! It does make me go hmmmmm.
Supposedly, the vet school at OSU will test ticks for pathogens and I am looking into that.
According to the books that I am reading about what went on out here, there were no studies on diseases being done.
All I know is that I was completely NORMAL before moving out here and getting bit by more ticks than I can count. I haven't been the same since.
The thing about my state is that they completely deny that lyme exists here, so misdiagnosis is a reality. Without that positive WB, I would still be on the fast track to MS.

You go!- Erin Sooner. I myself have thought about a lab tick study. I know Igenex will test a tick but I would think there is someone out there who makes a living out of this.
