Today my daughter looks a little yellow around

the edges and for the past week she has had

stomach upset more than usual. Dr. has not

called back yet and its Friday. Has nay one

else had these symptoms? I read the cautions

about mepron (this is her 6th month on it) and

jaundice and stomach upset are listed in the

toxic catagory so we are not going to give her

her next dose until we hear from her Dr.

I'm thinking liver detox for now.

Any thoughts?

Thanks you

Good job mom for waiting for Mepron! How are her eye whites??

It sounds highly suspect for jaundice, Dr. will probably want to take some liver enzyme tests.

Hang in there =)

Take care,
Ocean

Thank you Ocean

Her whites seem ok but I am still on the same track.

Every day is a new adventure in medication!

How's rosebud this morning? Did LLMD call you back?

We are trekking down to see Dr. J, but I will call you this week to see how you are doing.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Stay strong!

Hugs,

I think mepron can cause yellowing of the skin. I had it bad when I was taking tsp 2x day.

I went and took family photos with my newborn. Yikes! That is how I could really tell. Wish I would have waited to take those pics! LOL!

This is a MAJOR WARNING SIGN of Kidney problems.

Please get this checked ASAP. Mepron will ruin or kill your Kidney's.

I would stop the Mepron until you get tested for Kidney problems. Being off for a few days will not cause any problems, but too much Mepron will.

My son was just diagnosed at 13 with Gilbert's Disease, just something to mention. It is a genetic disease where you have high bilirubin. I just wanted to mention it; we never knew he had it.

Well it took a while, but it turns out my

daughter did have liver issues that were

probebly from the Mepron. Her blood tests did

not show much but our Dr. is pretty sure that

her liver was taxed because she also had dark

urine as another symptom. So she has been off

of the Mepron for about 18 days now and is doing

great. The good news is that because she has

been doing so well off of it the Dr. feels we

can stay off whilst staying on the zithro. We

are to keep an eye on the jaundice situation

because the Dr said zithro could still effect

her liver as well. Dr. said she thinks we may

only have a couple of months left on the zithro.

My daughter has been on Mepron/zith since Sept

08 and it really has cleared up her Lyme and co -

so it seems it was a necessary evil. Now we are

crossing our fingers, detoxing and hoping

nothing else emerges.

Thanks friends!

I just realized in my original post I had mis counted how long my daughter was on Mepron. It has been almost eight months

Greetings!

I am so happy to hear that your child is doing well. My kid was taking mepron from Sept 08 to Jan 09, then switched to malarone. So it has been 8 months for us as well with slow and steady improvement. Our LLMD appointment is next week, so we will see how much longer treatment will be needed.

Best Wishes,

Lymepool
