I have to get an IV in a few weeks. Is there anything I need to know. My doctor said that i can get kidney stones and so on. She said she would give me something else to help control that from happening but can't i just drink a lot of water? Is there anything else I should know going into this?

Butterfli, I just want to say I had a Picc line with daily IVs for months.
I felt so much better and am fighting with insurance to get the back.
A doctor told me to take olive oil and white vinegar shooters every day so as not to get liver gall bladder sludge. I also take LIV 52.
I hope its as good an experience for you as it was for me. Oral antibiotics make me horribly ill.

My daughter gets an IV almost daily (unless her vein stays open and we can do the infusion at home). She takes Actigal two times a day to prevent gallstones, and we get an abdominal ultrasound once a month to check and blood work is done once a week.
