Just saw on the FDA website that Coartem/Riamet has been approved by the FDA. This drug is used in Europe to treat Babesiosis. Not sure when it will become available in the USA. It looks like Novartis/FDA are still working on the final labeling for the product.
At last, another option in our arsenal!!

Three day malaria treatment... the babesia treatment is going to cost an arm and a leg with this I bet, since they will price it to make a lot of money with three days worth only .

Malaria is not Babesia.
I haven't read Dr. Schaller's babesia book yet but I did read an excerpt where he said one mistake doctors have been making in treating babesia is that they try to hit it with malaria doses.

Yeah we need a truckload for Babeisa! Atleast if its approved for malaria it means we can get our hands on it. If its not approved for anything you can't get it for something different.

Well, actually, he thinks you have to begin with a low dose.
I haven't read the book, so I'm not really qualified to talk on it. I just read enough of an excerpt to pick that out.
I know it is really hard to kill.
