Has anyone used colloidal silver orally for lyme with any success? If so, what brand, and dosage. I am an adult - 175 lbs. I have a 14 year old who weighs about 100 lbs. Also, anyone's llmd used IV colloidal silver? I am allergic to most antibiotics and am looking for alternatives. Right now I'm only using cholestyramine. The herxes aren't for sissies! My 14 year old is on 500 mg zithromax per day. It's difficult to sort through all the info out there, so many products, it's hard to know which is best. Anyone out there 'turned blue' from use of silver? Thanks for any advice.

Most information you will find on the web on colloidal silver has been carefully censored by pharmaceutical companies.
Some naturopaths and even MD's are using colloidal silver orally and IV, but they won't tell you that until they know you.
Yes, you do have to be careful what brand of silver you use, or you could turn blue. The well crafted brands with high parts per million seem to be very safe.
If you do a search you can find out more about what has been previously posted on colloidal silver.
I like silver, but don't find it to be the magic bullet for lyme in my case.
My magic bullets have been Venex Bee Venom ointment, and homeopathics from Deseret Biologicals, and some of the Buhner herbs.
I also have had great success with light treatments with nosodes, but that is a long story.

Hey Linky,
I tried colloidal silver and herxed. I didn't try it long enough (yet, I'm detoxing/cleansing right now and plan to restart it in the next 2 weeks) though. I know some people have great success on it. Like anything for Lyme, some things help some people and not others.
Do not get Silver Mild Protein, I have read THAT will make you turn blue, or any type of salt in with the silver. Make sure the company uses distilled water.
Oh, I also (before I knew it was Lyme) did CS for a week, I was doing about 9 Tablespoons per day I think and I started feeling very depressed. I am wondering if it was hitting Bartonella or something? My raw garlic regimen lately has been hitting something, anxiety has increased, at first brain fog did, but today and yesterday, I could remember words pretty well which is fantastic for me!
Anyhow, good luck, check out curezone.com colloidal silver forum for dosing details, they seem to know a lot over there. Again though, they are not doctors, so cannot give you medical advice, but are generally pretty friendly and helpful (from my experience anyhow).

Mesosilver is the best brand you will find. I know lymies that are cured on that stuff. I will be taking it shortly after I get some tests back and get and settle on a good dose of orals to do with the CS.

I am on a tablespoon daily of Nature's Sunshine's Silver Shield. It is 18ppm. My doctor has me on the silver although she prefers Argentyn 23. She approved my silver at 18ppm. Argentyn has 23 ppm. She told me this last visit to be sure my silver is ionized. If it is silver salt, it will turn you blue but ionized will not. Mine is ionized.
I have been on the silver since Jan 09, but not a silver bullet. Just part of the regimen.
Mesosilver does make some impressive claims on their website and I have considered it. In their test results, Silver Shield did pretty well but Argentyn did not.
I started on the Silver Shield because I already had some when the doctor told me to start Argentyn 23.
I am using Silver Shield currently on a deep cut my horse sustained and it is healing nicely without infection. This cut is low on the horse's ankle so gets very dirty. I have not kept the horse up as I wanted him moving to keep inflammation down. So far, no sign of infection.

I have been drinking since Oct. 08 and have not turned blue.
6-8ounces everyday then my thyroid messed up last couple of months.
Doc said not to take hormones within 4 hrs. either way of the CS.
I do think it inhibits them dramatically.
And made an amazing improvement in my dizziness and diarrhea so I would say it does cross the blood brain barrier.
While it has not cured me it kept me going.
And believe it can be a valuable tool if we just find out all the hows, and whens and what kinds.

I'm interested in the silver. I've never had success with it before for other conditions in my family but a man with Lyme here swears by it. He's been taking it the last 2 years and regained the use of the right side of his body. I'm sure he's wondering why I haven't run to the store to get me some... but I'm not sold.... so I'm very interested in this thread.

I had Lyme Disease for 13 years. I used antibiotics for a year and a half. Tetracyline in winter and Biaxin/Plaquenil in the summer. Tetracycline in the two winters gave me very stong herxes and some clearing of symptoms afterwards. The Biaxin/Plaquenil didn't seem to make me herx or get better.
After the second winter on Tetracycline I was still herxing and I was about 40% better. I tried the ASAP brand 22 ppm collodial silver. I used it in a nasal spray 4 or 5 times a day.My symptoms cleared up dramatically after one week. My neck and back pain and spasms almost stopped completely. This was the first time that had happened in many years.I don't know why it happened that quickly or without herxing.
I don't know of anyone else that has used that brand or with a nasal spay to know if it would help others or not. I used it in a nasal spray because I read on the Argentyn brand site that stomach acid destroys the collodial silver in other brands. When used in nasal spray it last much longer also.
This is about a year later and I am about 90% well. I stooped antibiotics and galique brand garlic most of the time. I add the Tetracyline and Garlique back sometime for a week or two and it gives me a herx still. It appears to make some more progress each time I add them back (Tetracyline and Garlique). It seems to do better than constantly taking them (Tetracyline and Garlique).
The collodial silver holds my symtoms down to where I can function almost like a normal person, but it didn't seem like it was killing it off completely by itself.
