These are tubes filled with cotton treated with Permethrin. I have not personally used them, as I have a postage stamp backyard, but I am thinking of it since deer do munch the garden and we have a small woods where other small animals live.
If you are worried about Permethrin, it is actually very safe. I did some research on it before spraying my son's camping gear/clothes for Scouts with it.

Look up - diatomaceous earth - on google.
I don't have a yard but I have researched this. Seems to be a good choice.

Hi Whome, I just used this product on my lawn thanks to Tickbattler who posted this website a few weeks ago. The company is very helpful and told me that Talstar (bifintrin) and Dragnet (permethrin) were equally as effective..just different chemicals.
