Hi all,

I'm about to start Tinidazole (pulsing : 1 week on, 3 weeks off). I'm already taking Rifampin (3 weeks on, 1 week off), Biaxin and Minocycline.

The Tinidazole dose is 500mg twice a day. It seems like a lot. Have any of you started with that dosage or did you ramp up?

I'm afraid the herxes will be severe.

I had an issue wit Flagyl so I switched to Tindamax. I was nervous to begin so I started with a 1/4 2x a day the first day, 1/2 2x a day the second time and then a whole pill. I did not notice anything different. I am guessing I could have started on a full pill.I am only on it 1x a day on weekends only. I am assuming my doc will put me on 500mg 2x a day at my next visit.

500mg 2 times a day is not a unusually high dose. Many take 1,500mg a day, sometimes more.
