My LLMD just put me on this antibiotic and I have never heard of it. It is an IV antibiotic and I'm supposed to infuse it twice daily two days per week. Has anyone else ever tried this particular drug and if so did it seem to help?

This will be my first antibiotic and my doc says that he is starting me off slowly because I couldn't handle it otherwise. (bloodwork came back showing my immune system is very weak)

If anyone has any experience with Meropenem, I would very much like to hear about it. Thanks!

If you search you will find some old posts about patients using carbapenem abx. Look for meropenem, inipenem, Merrem, Primaxin and Invanz.

Thanks for the search tip tcw. I've actually received several PM's from others who have taken meropenem and/or had information about the drug's effectiveness against Lyme. Apparently, it is suppose to be one of the most effective and strongest antibiotics.
