I just want to share my recent experience with this...
My ND recently put me on an oregano oil product to combat fungal issues. The product is A.D.P. from Biotics Research. It's an emulsified form of the oil, 50mg. per tablet. My ND said they were strong. Boy, was she right...
I assume that the emulsified form gets utilized by the body a lot easier than the straight oil does. Many people in previous threads mentioned burping up the oil or other GI issues while taking the oil. I experienced none of that, due to the emulsification, I believe.
Anyway, I started with one tablet for a few days and did fine. After two days on two tablets I had a massive herx. The biggest symptom was brain fog x 1000, I could barely think at all and was mentally a complete disaster. Me ->
Backing down to 1 tablet a day made that go away. After going up to 1.5 tablets a day for two days I again had a massive herx. My ND said my symptoms perfectly described fungal die-off. I assume it could be hitting other pathogens too.
I'm wondering - has anyone else used this product? (a search here on LN revealed nothing) What binders work to help mop up fungal die-off?
I think this stuff really works if anyone else wants to try it. However, I would recommend being careful with the dosage.

Dear AndrewInCA, Someone I know took Oil of Oregano for yeast as well as bacterial dysbiosis. It can cause extreme herxing. I have such bad yeast, the slightest thing causes a horrible herx. I have not tried Oil of Oregano yet, for fear it would irritate my system too much. The die-off is from the yeast cells bursting and temporarily releasing toxins into your bloodstream.
Some of my friends swear by Country Life Activated Charcoal for die-off. You need to take it away from food, though. Otherwise, it will bind to it and the nutrients along with the toxins. A couple of hours should be long enough. Many people have suggested Epsom Salt baths as well. By the way, there is enteric-coated oil of oregano capsules for those with sensitive stomachs, which is the kind I would have to take.

Andrew,
I used the same brand a few years back - it was recommended by a nutritionist who has Lyme. I showed the bottle to the naturopath I was seeing at the time, who was very impressed and said it was the best brand she had seen.
I get die-off reactions to even a drop of something so you can only imagine how slowly I had to go and ramp up.
I want to buy it again because I believe I have candida now. Did you buy it directly from the naturopath or on your own? I want to purchase it but am not sure if it's only available through health practitioners - I will have to google it.
Go slowly!!

oil of oregano needs to be treated with respect..it gave me the worst herx with the best improvement..i get itchy when I take diflucan or oregano oil..even one drop will make me herx like there is no tommorow..much stronger then any antibiotic..I think that I will take it one drop a day for three days and see what happens?

I bought the ADP directly from my naturopath. I've stopped it for now, will be seeing my naturopath again to determine whether I should try it again, albeit at lower doses.
I'm now wondering if my fungal issues are bigger than I thought, given the drastic reaction to this stuff.

Thanks, Andrew, for answering my question about where you bought it. Perhaps it is only sold by healthcare practitioners.
Regardless of which brand I try, I will have to go slowly knowing how potent the stuff is.
Yes, I'm wondering about fungal issues too given my reactions.
Keep us posted as to what your naturopath says.

I LOVE my Biotics ADP oregano oil! I immediately stopped getting yeast infections once I started
it. I take one in the morning and one at night, but I think more can be taken. I buy it online.

Can anyone who has Dr. S' book on Bartonella confirm whether or not he says Oil of Oregano hits Bartonella? I am having some major problems this week that feel like Bart and knowing this info would help me out a lot.
I took only half a tablet of ADP yesterday and was incoherent all day today. But I'm not sure that was the cause.

ADP gave me a worse herx than the Bactrim or doxy rx by the same LLMD. When combined with abx, I could only handle 1 per day. When combined with 2 abx, I had to stop because it interfered too much with my walking.
